wat's ur fav multi-effect so far?

i dont know la... for me.. i used a x-v-amp, zoom 707, and gfx 3 before.... i only think the modulations that comes out from these stuff are good... in fact... i like the delays that comes out from it...

but the distortion... (please forgive me.. i know its a bit childish) its really digital... esp at high gains... the overdrive is still ok.... but the higher gain stuff... nah... doesnt cut it...

i tried both the pod 2 and xt the other day... i dont know... but i think both are over hyped... serious....

as for me-50... i think thats one of the best i heard thus far... its really simple... but yet it has tonal controls and quality like individual stomp boxes... of cos.. the wah on it can be much better...

I mean, its your tone, who care's about whether the layperson out there can tell the diff?

Ahh, to this we must see whether we are playing for the layperson or ourselves, or both.

Anyway, this is my overall perception of digital vs analog. Multi efx will just keep getting better no doubt abt that til one day it will be near impossible to tell the difference even for those musicians with "golden ears".

For now, we have not reached that stage yet. Hence i think it wise to supplement what multiefx lacks with analog pedals.

Simply put, for convenience's sake multiefx wins hands down.
For tone, it's definitely analog.
We have to juggle between the 2 to see what caters to our needs the most.

I'm happy with my tone with the digitech GNX3000, and that's what matters.

fellow softies/musicians,
listen to this

good tone? acceptable? so-so? bad tone? digital? analog? both?
u decide..

i have no idea whether it's digital or analog or both, but i didn't really like it.

there are many things in context that isn't covered though - direct, mic-ed? what amp, cab, speaker? etc. I won't go to say because the sound is mainly because of the effect used.

ont really like wat? the tracks? the tone?

tone. that's what you asked right? :)

the ambience thing at the front was okay with me. the metal riffs weren't to my tastes at all and sounded overly compressed. the santana solo... not my taste. Generally in all the tracks I felt the sound was a bit lifeless. Might be mixdown issues, etc.

You could tell me it's analog and it wouldn't matter to me though. I support whatever that is digital if it sounds good for what I play and like.

anyway, thanks for your comment.
i always believe in myself.
Keep the Faith.
Rock on \m/

Rock on. It's good if you like your tone, I think that's all that matters most of the time. Everything is so subjective in the world of music, that's why even the "best" pieces by Mozart and Beethoven are pure horror to other's ears.

Curious though, how did you record your guitar track?

About sounding good and stuff. Not everyone is obsessed with tone. Not everyone wants to spend their hard earned sweat money, rather not as liberally as others. If a digital efx keeps them happy, why bother?

People have a life.
Balance.

ok back to the topic.
my favorite is Digitech GNX series.

but look at Zoom G9.2tt hardware/specs.
lets just wait.

My favourite is something like this:

or hey this:

Multiple analog effects housed together. Does that count?

One thing digital will probably never do correctly is the hiss and noises of analog.

And you'll never be able to push a digital front of an amp with a big booster.

I wonder what's the purpose of the fan. Do they pedal get THAT hot? Or maybe those are used to cool some tubes. :?:

the fan is damn cool....

hey blueark, make one like that and use a water-cooled heat dissipation system like those in modded PCs you see in Sim Lim. complete with neon-blue colored water in the pipes, of course :D
