Wanted Man! Shoplifting at SV Guitars.

but gas for a swing prism?
probably selling it off to get some cash

The Prism's pretty GAS-worthy and GAS-inducing, if you ask me.

Yeah, but I suppose he's intending to sell it off. Not that he'd have much luck in the local forums, probably end up selling it to some ignorant foreigner.

Or he might take the Prism apart and sell the parts individually. The Prism is comprised of some seriously great hardware and wood. I mean, the Sperzel Trimloks, SD pups, LR Baggs X-bridge, etc.
Hell, we might as well start looking out for someone selling off a 22-fret Canadian hard-maple neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard, or a 2-piece American Alder body!

:P

maybe this guy is not local and has already made his getaway

Oh you mean this guy came all the way to Peninsula, steal a Swing Prism, and went all the way back to Batam or something.

Yes and I bet he's gonna swim back to avoid the Customs, along with a broken leg and a guitar as a float.

do you know how dumb you sound?

HAHA the guy is Mas Selamat, I get it! Original and funny! Oh wait.

But yeah he does have a point. I highly doubt anyone would come to Singapore to steal a guitar. Unless he just happened to be here as a tourist and didn't have enough money for a souvenir.

you do realise that there's such a term known as tourist, don't you. just stated a possibility. nowhere near your scenario of "coming all the way from batam, steal a swing prism then go all the way back to batam", which is quite improbable.

it's funny how you made an alusion to mas selamat ("broken leg", you must mean limping leg) and painted up an exagerrated scenario to make the possiblity i suggested seem stupid, because mas selemat did manage to escape despite a country wide manhunt.

these cases of theft are not new in peninsular basement/excelsior hotel.

Guitar Connection has lost 1 Fender American Standard Stratocaster & a Fender Jazz Bass.

The thief who stole the Fender American Standard Stratocaster was took it off the hook and walked out of the store. The timing was all too good. The guitar was taken back when the thief came back to set up the guitar. Pretty dumb I must say.

For the Jazz bass, the thief's face have been caught on CCTV. He had an accomplice waiting outside the store. After grabbing the bass, his accomplice would walk on his right to block the CCTV camera from seeing the culprit's face. Pretty dumb planning since they were checking out the locations of the CCTV cameras before committing the crime.

Both cases have been reported to the police but no news for both. Sad but true.

man if the police are seriously on this case i hope they find they catch the right culprit and not some guy with a white stratocaster
