To me personally, its not abt which "arsenal" is more powerful. Its more of applications.

I play mostly heavy music that requires the suitable "tool" for the job.

That's how I look at cymbals too.

I need a Ride that can cut all those wallof sounds and at the same time producing notes that are nice to the ears. A ride with a big bell will be perfect and the 22" HH Power Bell is THE perfect IMO for the job.

I've decided to acquire 3 different set of cymbals for different purposes.

A different set for recording, practising and for gigging.

So far, its all in a mess and I've been writing down wat cymbals are the most suitable for my ears for each application.

And its going to take a hge amount of $$$$ to get it all.

Keep building up the inventory... all big things has its humble beginnings...

I agree. I had started with the following cymbals when I first bought my drumkit about 10 years ago:

1) A Zildjian 20" crash/ride
2) A Zildjian 16" thin crash
3) A Zildjian 13" new beat hi-hat

I have since sold off the crash/ride and the crash cymbals. My current cymbal setup as follows (all Zildjian):

1) 14" K Hi-hat
2) 16" K Constantinople Crash
3) 18" K Constantinople Crash (bought from ebay, coming in soon)
4) 16" A Custom Crash
4) 20" K Constantinople Light Ride
5) 22" K Constantinople Medium Ride
6) 18" A Medium Ride (from the late 70's)

Patience is the name of the game.

Cheers...

ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG!!! thats my dream china next to zildjian oriental china classic 20"!!!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the response, the cymbals are just the nomal colour, not white like JJ. I clean my cymbals after every gig. When you spent that much money on gear like that you want to look after it, especially in Singapore where every thing corrodes so quickly. I want my stuff to last.

Got the Samatya add ons for $500. Excellent cymbals at that price. The 16" china is the best of the 3 (10" splash and 14" crash)... has a very musical trash...

The Sultan series sounded fantastic... go and check it out...

A family picture of Agops and Mehmets... 8)
