Volume Pedals and patch cables.

Which volume pedal is better in the sense of durability? A ernie ball stereo volume pedal or a Visualsound Visual Volume? And also, do proel vol pedals suck tone???

For patch cables, how long do Made In China Flathead cables last? Those from Mrmisse.

any pedal, effect pedal/volume pedal will last as long as proper care is taken.

And proel do not suck tone. Its just an expression pedal, dont look too deep into it. I have been using those proel one for a long while. It works fine, either with a $100 pedal or $1000 pedal, it does it job and nothing will be changed.

as pedal, any cables, china or singapore or anywhere else. It will last as long as proper care is taken. In some occassion if it fail, its perfectly normal. Nothing last forever.

errrrr, lets think about it, one input jack, one output jack and a potentiometer within the proel one. How much tone sucking are we looking at

even if got suck tone, tell your friend not too worry. Majority of people listening cant be bothered with it as long theres no extensive shredding to backing tracks

hmm. dunno. if i buy sth i want it to be gd quality la. so must make sure. cant afford to waste money..!

All volume pedals "suck" tone lah... no true bypass mah...

But if you are so concerned with durability, then get something hardier loh.

If you're going for the EB Vol pedal be aware of the many different models which are available, some are for active circuitry and some are for passive. There will be noticable amounts of tone loss if you use the wrong one.

I believe the only thing made in China about Misse's cables are the heads. The cables themselves are Canare Cables which are made in Japan.

Another thing...

FYI The EB volume pedal is made in Malaysia, with a string inside controlling the volume level via the height of the pedal.

But it's good stuff, extremely solid contruction, I own and use one in my setup, the feel of the EB vol pedal is just perfect.

don't mind a noob question, but whats the difference btwn an active one and a passive one?

for active/passive pups or?

Yo bro...

No worries...I can try to explain it but it's best to hear it clean from the horse's mouth, no distortion ;)

From the Ernie Ball Website....

Q: When would I use an active (25k) pedal as opposed to a 250k/500k "passive" pedal, and why?

A: Passive vs. Active: Whenever there is a passive signal leading into an EB pedal, the 250K or 500K pedal is recommended (mono VP & VPJR 250K and stereo 500K VP pedals available). Whenever there is an active signal (powered preamp, powered pedal, effects loop, etc.) leading into an EB pedal, the 25K pot is recommended (stereo VP and mono VPJR pedals available). If an active signal is placed before a 250K or 500K EB pedal, or if a passive signal is placed before a 25K EB pedal, then the consequence may be that the swell of the pedal does not act as designed. Either way, as stated above, try whatever combination you desire, and determine if it works for you. All of our volume pedals are designed to be as transparent as possible in a signal chain. However, whenever you add any component to a signal chain, the signal will change whether it is audible or not.

Eb made in malaysia?? visual vol n eb about same price. and if im not wrong, eb dont have a stereo one with a tuner out.. haha. visualvolume is great though. i need stereo cuz i putting it after my chorus and before my delay.

will you be using in a dual amp setup? Coz if you having both output of the chorus going into both input of the volume pedal but just one input into the delay and subsequent to one amp. There is never going to be any stereo effect. Not sure how it goes in your chain, but if iam wrong just feel free to correct me :D

Ah. it depends on the place. but im connecting mono to mono and on my patch bay, when i play mono, i plug the amp to mono. and yeah i noe must have 2 amps to go stereo to get stereo chorus and delay..

heh, not only that, most pedals in the market, usually only have 1 input and 2 output. That is not going to make it unless having most pedal with 2 in and 2 out to get the pseudo stereo thing going on.

1 in 2 out, cant make it unless the next pedal in the chain got 2 in and 2 out to connect to the next one...

Ok. Mylast 2 pedals are a dd6 aND SUPERVIBE CHORUS(MaRSHALL sv1) so if i get visual volume, itll be.

Other pedals>Sv1>Visualvolume>DD6
>tuner out to pw tuner
