is valve state and transtube the same ?

if not what is a valve state

what is a transtube ?

i know solid state and full tube but whats those 2 mentioned above ?

i check online , but cant find anything

yes, they are technically similar. both technologies employ a tube in the pre-amp section while the power section remains to be solid state. each manufacturer has their own labelling for legal reasons.

Laney has their Tube-Fusion, as above.

yeah, means that theres a tube in the preamp. but there are non full-tube units with a tube in the POWER amp section.

just get a full tube 1-5 watt amp.
5 watts probably too loud though. but rmb that a general rule of thumb is that when you double the amp's wattage (assuming same tubes etc), just doubling the number of power tubes i believe, only increases the volume by 3dB. headroom is affected more. take for example the 50 and 100 watt marshalls.

I dont think my Peavey Rage 158 with "Transtube" has a tube in the preamp though. But i may be wrong, i havent seen the inner guts yet.
