I'd recommend using Vpost..safer for me..bought 2 guitars from the USA via Ebay using this service with no problems and paid about less than $300 sing including shipping to Vpost branch in USA and back to here.

$300 or less, oh ok do you remember the exact figure and did you ship it with any hard case? Because it will be heavier with the hard case right? Which means it would cost more if I ship it with the hard case right?

I didn't ship with any hardcase cos they came with gig bags. U have to take into account the cost of shipping to Vpost US branch (I use Portland). I think mine was about US30-40. The shipping cost to here depends on the weight and dimensions of the package. My guitars didn't weigh that much (I bought Danelectro guitars made of plywood so they are light).
I can say that I paid around $200 sing for each guitar to ship it here..just checked my records..

in any case i think it would still be cheaper than direct shipping at the seller's quoted price. ask him for a price quote for a delivery to the nearest vpost address, or ebenex's forwarding service? local delivery charges shouldn't exceed US$100 since intl shipping is around 150-200. I think this might be a more feasible alternative, both financially and morally, don't you think?
