uncontactable/play out buyer thread

You know what guys, this is turning out to be a very cool thread to sort out misunderstandings between Softies.

:smt052

I used to save these numbers as

assh**e01
assh**e02
assh**e03
assh**e04.... etc

but i don't do much buy and sell these days... so its all good!

both sides have their wrongs, the buyer should have at least told you "not today" to give u a clear picture. not replying was really irresponsible.
on the other hand, i seriously feel posting a "BEWARE OF ASSH***1234" post isnt etiquette at all. many ppl wasted their time too, but they still move along with their sales.

maybe you should just do away with the "can you reserve for me till next week?" sometimes just go for the most available buyer.

deenrock

dear mr fender,my apology,i wan it to be on sunday rite, and yet u wan it only saturday which u are comfortable doing, cos i told u i hav to get some buyers on my few guitars.N by all means,u get me wrong man.n its very great of u to expose somebody mistakes which is yet not well understood.
To all i ever asked for reservation,i did told u all rite dat i hav to sell some of mine rite,n if its alrite to wait, then its well appreciated.n if its not then i hav to pass.
once again i'm sorry.

dude, your apology is accepted, but let me clarify:

1. you said friday or saturday 3pm at bishan is fine

i sms'd you several times on friday morning and saturday but there was no reply.

2. you never mentioned that you needed to get buyers for your guitars, etc etc.. before buying my $80 pedal.

3. you said you would get it this weekend and to reserve it for you.

i have sms history of this in my phone.

you wasted almost 20 of my 5 cent SMS's and lost me 2 oppurtunities to sell the pedal sooner.

but anyway, i accept your apology.

first thread updated

the uncontactable buyer pm'd me his apology and i also apologised for exposing him here.

sorry if my tone was too harsh

i am usually not like this. what i did was triggered by being played out by buyers over and over again and i snapped.

i wanted to send a message to such buyers.. those who have experienced this before will know its seriously not fun to be uncontactable or play people out on deals.

peace.

i recieved several PM from different people saying that the buyer that played me out also played them out before. even more than once in a few instances.

and he even used the same excuses

sigh.. i don't know what to say.. you guys know what to do la.

anyone wants to share their experiences, feel free to do so..

zzz we should really forget about these kinda people who arent worth fretting over. its like how a very old guitar should be left alone since it is too old and isnt worth a refret job.
whatever i'm saying it doesnt make sense, neither does it make a good analogy but well.

MOVE ON.

I am glad that you actually created this thread. The same person yesterday called me regarding my guitars that are on the classifieds. Luckily no deals have yet been done....

Yeah...he also asked me to reserve my uber metal for him...and i rejected other buyers's offers....and in the end i'm smses him and he dint even replied at all nor that at least inform me that he is nt buying anymore as being courtesy...gosh dint noe a number of pple in also get into tis mischap..... :x

"Buyers from Hell" - A step by step sequence: 8O

1. Buyer sees a nice pedal on WTS ad. Suddenly kena GAS attack!

2. PM or SMS seller for price and details. Ask for discount also.

3. Alamak, price too high, cannot afford.....but die die must want. GAS is too strong.

4. Never mind...maybe can get lucky by LOWBALLING seller. Give him low low price. Say the pedal is overvalued or too old. Hopefully seller can change his mind.

5. Still rejected.....shit! So now how?

6. Never mind...RESERVE first. Maybe someone can lend money. Or maybe raise cash by selling old gear.

7. Buyer tells seller to reserve for him, and deal a few days later. Give him 101 reasons.

[A few days later]

8. Crap...still no money. People are so ngeow!

9. Seller calls/SMS about the sale and appointment.

10. Shit...how ah? Never mind...best is don't answer or reply lor! Or just don't meet him lor! Or if he complains, give him 101 excuses lor! See, clever or not?

11. So, the seller waits and waits and waits......

12. By now, buyer's interest in that pedal has subsided. No more GAS liao. Also sian liao.

13. Feeling bored, the buyer checks out the buy/sell section again.

14. Buyer sees another nice pedal on WTS ad. Kena GAS attack again...wah lau, just like magic!

15. PM or SMS seller for price and details. Ask for discount also.

16. Shit...kind of expensive leh.

17. Never mind..................

[And so, the process starts all over again!]

been played out before by some other guy in this forum, the same thing of agreeing to deal but after tat never reply my sms, but i still went to the place to deal, he never turn up. Lesson learned.

So from now on whenever a buyer/dealer never reply my sms within a day, the deal will be off, and i will sms him to tell him tat the deal is off.

guitarsan,

Nice sequence given. But, what you've listed down likens to someone who had developed a form of mental disorder. Now, if that's the case, it will be really sad... :(

There's nothing wrong with GAS, or "the quest for the TONE". But if it carried you to such an extent of being so unstable in your mind and action, losing your control over your finances, not able to differentiate what's a "need", and what's a "want", then, you should really slow down, think, and be contented with the gears you have. Count your blessings. Look at what you have, and not what you don't have.

Even if you're rich, it still applies.

Just my advice to "those pple"...

haiz... sad lah.

Like I said....."buyers from hell". Ok, maybe should rephrase "buyers with severe GAS problem".

i edited out his number and nick because i thought it was a one-off incident and that he was really honest about his situation.

however, now i know that he has done this many times to many people using the same excuse.

should i repost his number and nick to serve as a warning to sellers?
