and i remember satch doing 32nps in the live version of flying in a blue dream. but apparently it was only played that fast once.

wah...you really measure the notes persecond they play??hahahaha....to me,speed is good with catchy phrasing and melody.....like gilbert, maklmsteen, vai, becker, friedman,nuno...a lot more...Playing with feel and expressive notes is not really difficult....unless you are playing someone else solos...the feel wouldnt be the same

i give my respect to all the fastest shredder....cause not everybody can play that fast....even playing chromatic solos is not easy...everyone has his limitations...I can play and pick fast,.but not as fast as them.

Michael Angelo Batio
Herman Li
Malmsteen (though he do tend to be draggy)

they're the few of the rest...

well Shred is a show of skill and speed. feel (Blues and such) is a show of how much they know their music and emotion.

i like both of them..they're not bad as long as its not power chord strumming for the whole song (Simple Plan,GC,GD,STD, watever)

1 - yngwie Malmsteen
2 - michael angelo
3 - vinnie moore
4 - marty friedman
5 - frank gambale

these are my choice of speedy shredder who can write a damn good solo and memorable music....

Vai tends to show his stuff when he plays live. Check out the G3 solo he plays on the triple neck jem 8O
