Top 10 Fastest Guitar Shredders of all time

YNGWIE!!! here here u got supporter hahah.. umm speed = emotion?? maybe yes maybe no to me..coz i cant say that clapton is lousy!!
maybe i could cry listening to tears in heaven
i will be v stress if i lost someone that i love
but this is juz wad i think 8)

*points back at topic title*

a lot of spam talkin about melodic and feel and watsnots, lol =P

yeah, speed brings out emotion too. jason becker's speed definitely does for me.

n maybe sometimes guitarists go overboard with the speed thing, they just rush through an entire song with the same crazy amount of notes every bar, every part. but the way paul gilbert and john petrucci have arranged their shred into their songs make shred worth a lot more than just fast consecutive notes. at least that's what i feel =)

everytime some shred thingy comes along there MUST be all the "full of feeeeeeeel" players coming in to spoil the fun.

speed itself is a skill too. some players like speed some like feel..whatever you like just do la why do you have to bash people?

ggg

shredding is also an ART in guitar playing. its a matter of whether u can shred or u cant at all.
i cant shred, but i admire shredding guitar players. its among e' most beautiful art ever known.

to all those narrow minded morons and pricks out there. having speed doesn not mean no feel. ive heard extremely slow players with as much feel as as the aroma of shi.t if shi.t even gives out aroma. yes i do agree that sometimes blinding speed makes stuff sound cheesy but that doesnt mean that it cant be soulful.

well i guess most likely those pple who make those silly sweeping comments r those who r slower than snails and the comment is just a defence mechanism for the inferiority complex to tell urself that ure good when ure not. jealous eh?

walao penta-tonic..wanna shoot people also no need shoot until so direct right?at least turn one round then shoot them will at least sound less offending then just directly shooting them right?

well it gets tiring seeing all those snobs always dominating. im not one to shy away from being frank. its just that i hardly post nowadays with all that silly wannabes and snobs roaming the forum. so id just make my msg as simple and straight forward as possible. and no im not sorry if i offended anyone. :D

Its not so much of a snobbish attitude.

There's just too much out there, way more than shred to give it more attention than necessary.

Stick to the topic and stop using it to fuel your angst man.

And btw, you are fast, okay, cool. Great. Doesn't mean I can't comment on your playing.

i like shredding! it's so cool la! but too much not nice. i think a nice solo contains of good melody, then a little bit of speed. like EJ! he can shred also! although not so fast as shawn lane

hehe :D ,
Penta:No doubt man the players you mentioned i checked them...fuckin fast as hell, but frankly,I couldnt makeout what the hell they were playing, apart from rusty and fransesco, that tiego guy....sound quite wierd....but yea they r damn fast

But ever notice that these insane shredders never write a good tune, atleast I havent come across one bar shawn lane and allan holdsworth who do indeed rip the fretboard apart(i read in some forum that holdsworth is recorded to have played the fastest non tap passage in a particular song of his but ofcourse he is on legato ,which is another ball game all together)

I checked out some rusty cooley originals, fast as hell, but wouldnt listen to him a second time, boring as hell.

I think for me,Vinnie moore is a kickass shredder(prolly my fav neo classical player)

Recently I got into Brett Garsed...he is AMAZING,anyone who has not heard him,do check him out.One of the best rock fusion players ever,

the one song ill always listen to for my shred satisfaction would be rising force by malmsteen. awesome feel and if u bother to learn the second part of the three parts of the guitar solos u will learn something which u dont normally see many shredders doing. 8)

but well after all i didnt post those like della vega and fareri to say that i loved their music. this thread is after all posted to give glory to the speedsters.

for my fill of fav shredders it would be malmsteen, petrucci, becker, vinnie moore, norifumi shima, timmons, morse.

penta fair enuff... :D but dun mind me ...i just dont think noisy or random playing qualifies as shredding

we share similar interests regarding our fav shredders, although i have not heard norufumi shima.... :P would like to though

norifumi shima is from the jap band concerto moon. really awesome chops. tend to sound abit like the tone malmsteen gets. power metal to neo classical to ballads.
