Tonerider Pickups

Ok... Here's what a Tonerider City Limits set sounds like in an ash bodied, maple necked guitar: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6850357

The guitar in question is this:

This set is strangely nice... I've heard it in an alder bodied strat before, and it didn't sound this good. It was darker in an alder strat. I think the Ash is a great compliment to it... For more info: http://www.tonerider.com/pickups/stratpickups.html

Enjoy...

Ive currently got a set of Tonerider Rocksong pickups in my Gibson SG.

They are fantastic for the price. Its like a modern take on a vintage sound, cleans up really well even at high gain levels, and has this complex woody tone to it. For $75 per pickup, which is handwound and using high quality components, i cant complain.

+1 for tonerider pickups.

I'm interested in the Rocksong set. You got soundclips?

P.S. They're not handwound lah... scatterwound machines... LOOKS like handwound...

these toneriders are available in sg for purchase?

or like GFS pickups , have to order them in?

great playing by the way whitestrat! very Gary Moore-ish!

No rocket science here... that’s why they are cheap nowadays.
Having the right materials and "correct" information for the specific task of either replicating a "vintage" or certain "tone", makes a whole lot easier and quick for production.
Consistency comes from the number of people/machine that make em!!

Good pups you got there buddy ...

yeah i'm using the rocksong on my purple haze too :) nice old sch les paul kinda sound. Not the usual high gain modern that kills all the guitar's overtones.

oh yes i also dig GFS :D

Thanks!

Toneriders are available at Guitar Connection.

Apparently I ordered a Seymour Duncan JB for my guitar and it hasn't arrived, so They called me to ask whether I wanna change to tonerider. I checked the price and found out it is way cheaper than sd pickups. on ebay, buying a brand new sd could fetch you a brand new SET of tonerider. I told them whether there will be a price difference if i choose tonerider, but they say only 10-20 dollar difference. I sai I checked the price and he said ebay prices are "pasar malam" prices. I sticked with my SD.

You know what I'm trying to say......
