Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum and also new to music keyboarding...

I would like to ask you guys if it's worth to buy

PSR-E303_L.jpg

http://www.yamaha.com.sg/779.html

Actual retail price is 349$

A second hand at 200$ which I am trying my best to lower it to 150$ but the catch is... its 1 year+ old.

Is there anything I should look out for when purchasing a secondhand besides knowing its not faulty? Like say to test the actual sound( was told there was no need for tuning for electronic keyboards but just wanna be sure)..

Any advice will be very helpful.. :P

Thanks,
EmptinesS

Well, 150 ain't big money but what u wanna check for sure is that the all the keys function well. so play them all.aside from that ask he seller if there is anything you need to know about the keyboard.

If it's well maintained or seldom played , it should be fine.

Hi there !

I read that Yamaha link you provided and I noticed a lot of similarity with my newly purchased Casio CTK-810 too.

USB MIDI ( I linked my keyboard to my laptop for future recording purposes )
One-touch Grand Piano
Built-in songs ( to me, this is useless function )
Lots of instrument sounds too ( mine had about 500, but I think I only used a few )
Lots of acompaniment styles too
Recording function ( Mine loses recording when power supply is off - a miss here )
Touch-sensitive keys.. but not weighted. ( fine with me )
Addition to this, mine got this Split keys and layer function which I like quite well because it allows me to split my keyboard and layer sounds together.
Miss here is, the splits and layer settings gets wipe off once power is cut. Have to put 6 AA batteries to keep the memory.

PRice wise, i got mine around $400..

MY advise is.. I regretted buying a budget keyboard because it quickly gets obsolete within a short time..

it depends on what u wan to do with the keyboard. is it for practising? or recording use? gigs? etc.

if its for practising its pretty much worth to get it. wat im using is a psr-e403. similar series to urs. and i use it for recording. and when i wan to practise on it, i juz pull out the usb cable from it.

i tink the retail price for that model is bout 350sgd. getting it at 150 seems pretty much a good bargain to me, provided it is in working condition.
