thinking of getting a Swing Prism Guitar

hahaha thats why i say, whenever one compares a less well-known brand to a big brand, he will get attacked.

Dude, I gotta say this... Lancefury was not being "attacked" by Whitestrat.

To all arguements there's 2 sides of a coin, to all opinions there's 2 sides to it too...

Lancefury presented his impressions of the guitar and Whitestrat saw it fit to comment upon it and present his own opinions.

If you read Whitestrat's posts, I think he is the Ying to Lacefury's Yang. He provided the balanced Point of View to what I personally felt was... well... could pretty much be a lot of hype.

Actually, in the case of guitar world magazine... does anyone know how they go about the review videos? What is the setup? What is used to record?

As far as my ears tell me, they run the guitars thru a similar setup... there's similarities in the sound across the reviews.

We do... Timbre Guitars is being sold at Standard Value also.. Singaporean brand, but also made in china.

Good finishing, solid alder body, nice neck with satin finish, has hot single coil pickups, all for $290. Can't compare to the Swing guitars though... but for $290, its one of the nicest strats out there for its price range. In fact, my avatar picture is actually a Timbre strat outfitted with Lace Sensors. Can't see the headstock though.. Its kinda of a tele+strat headstock.. LOL...

Wait.. Timbre is Singaporean?

Wait.. Timbre is Singaporean?

Yupz.. Timbre is an emerging guitar maker in Singapore who based their operations in PRC, hence, its Singapore designed (as they claim and their HQ is in SG), but the guitars are Made in China.

And yes, to what ShredCow says, there is always 2 sides to a coin. A review/opinion from me would be balanced by what WhiteStrat says, so in this case to people considering to buy a Swing guitar, would have read both perspectives and come to a conclusion/decision for themselves.

And yes, there is the possibility of being overhyped somewhat, but my suggestion is to try out, play it, and then comment on the guitar after playing it. Without playing it, how can one critique the Swing Prism based on a photo? This would do more justice to the guitar as its hard to tell the quality or workmanship of the guitar without personally experiencing and verifying it. Jazzit_man would actually have the most time to try it out since he owns it now, so his review (if he writes one) would count for something.

doesn't that apply to everything else.

heh, i was just trying to be polite, without going the extend of saying

'what! you trust clips? Do you know how easy it is to manipulate the playing and way of showcasing it to attract the person listening into thinking that the gear is the universe, not the other way round!"

i am a polite person, or at least try my best to, even though i know i aint perfect

The Swing Prism SE is great!!!I just bought one from SV guitars in Peninsula...I always go for brand names thinking of the resale value... but i thought why bying something and thinking of selling it? I own and have owned high end guitars but this one is not far from the rest...I never thought of a guitar of it's price range that would sound like this..not to mention the playability! Better try them for yourselves and know what i'm talkin about!
