The Stratocaster Appreciation thread

Im not young leh, but i got strat.

I know. I saw you at Excelsior last week. you were peering into GC's old guitar stash...:twisted:

I can forgive your strat. You have a JP6...:mrgreen:

Anyways, I was talking about his preference to a hot chick than a wanton schoolgirl. Mainly because, at HIS age, the wanton schoolgirl IS the hot chick... Whahahaha...

I actually meant the guy.
LOL!

But, I like the olympic white ones. Its more of a soft white colour.

Although my fav are the various shades of sunbursts.

I see some Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups.. Anyway, I will changing my pickup selector.. Abit too stiff, or u guys got any suggestions? Spray 4wd oil??

Ealier there was this guy who did a tone blending mod? he said it was the same as the S1 switching?

ive got a question...the S1 switching is found on the american deluxe strats and theres this option of pressing a button down (in the vol knob)

Is it true that when u press it down, u get a simulated humbucking sound on the 2nd and 4th position? How does it actually work?
Any1 care to shed some light?

Im asking this because if its possible to do this mod on my strat...I really would like to do it..

I hope this link helps.. .:: Fender®.com ::.

"Now standard equipment in many of our American Deluxe series and American series instruments, Fender's groundbreaking S-1 switching system allows players to switch pickup configurations in an instant. The switch is visually undetectable, but tonally it turns your instrument into the most versatile axe on the planet! Located in the crown of the master volume knob, one push of the switch will place your pickups in an assemblage of parallel, series and pickup-combining configurations. You can have the best of all worlds!" -quoted from website-

S1 switching gives u the option to choose which pickups to combine with. Do you notice that the traditional way of pickup combination doesn't allow the neck and bridge pickups to be combined in any position. I did a tone blending mod for my Strat upon the recommendation of Master Beez. The last tone knob is used to control the amount of combination I want, say @ 5th position, I wanna activate neck pickup as well - tone knob 0 = bridge 100%, neck 0%. tone knob 1 = bridge 90%, neck 10% etc.

I also recommend you to install an orange cap for improved tonality..
