Some qns for strat users, recently got a MIJ strat, changed the strings from stock 9s to 10s, and found that my bridge starts to float. Is that normal?

normal. the float is more of a preference thing, really. some strat users prefer 5 springs in the back plus the bridge flat on the body. i personally set my strats up to have a float, so there is the possibility of diving/pulling up.

sweet looking strat, wil. i think most mexican strats will be similar though. for great strat pickups, i've heard fender's samarium cobalt noiseless, those sound fantastic. only thing is they're pricey.

yea. u just need to loosen the screws in the spring cavity at the back. be careful not to unscrew the whole thing though. ur intonation might go a little wee bit off, so u might wanna take note of that as well.

teh strat trem is really not designed for heavy usage.. e.g heavy dive bombs... it works best for subtle trem effects...

personally i prefer the bridge locked in with 5 springs. both my strats done this way... sustain is alil better and the guitar sounds a little more hi-fi... which is a nice thing to me...

Go to beez in G77 ... he has those High tension springs ... 3 will no doubt pull your trem flush to the body. 5 is so it looks nice frmo behind. and no need to screw the screws so deep in...
