the Singapore Strat congregation...

what thor said: neck profile needs getting used to. however the different specs will have their fans.

strat vs Ibanez SZ: shouldn't be compared this way. the strat & SZ serves different tonal needs. i wouldn't suggest you give one up for the other, if it's within your means, own both.

been playing with my new Suhr V60lps in my strat and ... holy shit man ... this is really worth the money. saddest part is G77 is now bringing in Suhr pickups and guitars .... i should have waited and saved some money.

well strat guys or just single coil lovers... should TOTALY get a set of these... they sound great! outstanding tone in every position. Will be tweaking the pickup height for my personal tastes... but even now.. i love what i hear.

Real big thanks to Pentatonic for helping me get this in!
i should have saved money on my kinmans and just buy another set of these... bloody hell man ... really nice... cannot take it already..

Anyone happen to own or tried a G & L strat? How it compares to a fender strat? Both are the brainchild of Leo Fender, so wondering how they compare...

i saw those in music plaza. the fretboard and neck is not lacquered like those of fender. i dunno but i personally prefer lacquered maple necks and fretboard.

you may have to change your pickups to dimarzio HS-3 or yjm... for that trademark malmsteen sound... the stock singlecoils may not go well with big amounts of gain.

moderate and low gain works best.

Time to revive this thread, the more I play my strat, the more I love it. Initially was unsettled by the twang, but somehow the sound feels more "organic" to me now. And when played through OD, all the nuances of your playing is still preserved. Simply love it! Anyyone has similar experiences?

Here's my babe: :D
