the Singapore Strat congregation...

SX hardtail strats have tune-o-matics, that is ugly.

traditional hardtails i talkin about, you tell me this looks ugly? :p

well, time for you to memorise that pic :p
cos thats a hardtail.
fixed on top of body, no body routing for tremolo block, cos there isnt one.
so you get more wood under the bridge, which technically means better tone and sustain.

nope... a hardtail will be a solid slab of wood. with the fixed bridge screwed direct onto the body for maximum sustain. Never tried a hardtail strat before... but my favourite strat tones ALL came from normal trem strats...SRV .. Eric johnson ... jeff beck ... clapton ... blah blah...the list is endless...

just waitting for my suhr singlecoils to get in... im expecting a marked improvement over the old vintage pickups in my strat.

anyone wanna buy 10yr old american vintage pickups?

there are hardtails which incorporates through-body stringing.

i know.
but its just 6 holes drilled under the bridge, ie. tele style.
not a whole piece of wood routed out.

speaking of string thru, anyone tried the gibson nighthawk before? might wanna get one.

exactly.

i've tried one. if you are after a Les Paul tone- forget it. sounds more like a bright SG.

Where u bought the strat from? Online or local shops?

It looks sweet though... I am aiming for a strat too... haha

Got it from G77. Initially wanted to get a ST62US but Kerr from G77 recommend me to try the texas special and fell in love with it :D

hmm, so whats preventing ppl from say getting a US highway one strat over the MIJ? since both are about the same price.
cos basically i'm still deciding which strat i want, all i know is i want a maple neck to offset the gibsons i got :p

there are dealers now offering Jap Fenders for <$1K. shop around, you'll find them...

H1 Fenders (strat/ tele) cost more than the Jap. i own both so it's not about what one has which is missing in the other- it's about the feel & tone. different to say the least.
