The HEAVY METAL thread!

Even Ozzy said black sabbath first started out as a blues-rock band!

Wrong. Black Sabbath started out as a blues jazz band playing in pubs all over England. You can hear some of the jazz and psychedelic influences from songs in the first album like "The Wizard".

just so you know.

In modern context, i don't think there is a band which is just plain heavy metal. Metal is a very diverse genre, every band has their own sound. Maybe back in the 70s you could call Black Sabbath downright heavy metal, but then again they do have a lot of blues influence as heard from their music. Even Ozzy said black sabbath first started out as a blues-rock band!

So you tell people not to talk about a7x not because they aren't metal enough, but because you don't like them?

Yeah, I agree. The Blackening brought thrash back, amazing album, loved every second of it. :D

This thread doesn't exactly speak for itself as the title mentions, "Heavy Metal"

...

dude, i can't help but feel that you're making a lot of affective fallacy in this thread.

Metal can't be 100% pure lah.
afterall, alloys are always stronger than 100% pure metal right?

erm, i don't think machine head were even nu-metal ah.. they've always been thrash and groove metal.

great band though.

to me they did kinda have this slight nu-metal influence in their old songs. but what the heck, they're still f**kin metal. \m/

Ignore the TS la , lets just say he's not exactly the brightest crayon in the box

well, influence is best way to put it ah.

i think its the way that robb flynn sings the songs which makes it song very nu-metal-ish..

There is quite a significant difference between blues and jazz , I'm starting to wonder if you even know what the difference is between metal and nursery rhymes .

yes yes, you're the brighest among all zax! I'm thinking of posting a new thread on how awesome you are and why everyone should die for you and not some stupid heavy metal crap!

A7X isn't metal enough, they're simply not metal AT ALL! I hate it when people say a7x is the greatest sh*t in metal and their songs are so heavy its awesome cos its all false.

haha, chill ah bro. A7X definitely ain't metal but that doesn't mean they write sucky songs. they're probably better than you think they are. but if you really don't like them then that's fine by me. peace:)

The only reason I hate all this A7X mumbo jumbo is because they're being labeled as awesome metal. Label them something else that fits, so we dont get pissed

they make good music though
i enjoyed their city of evil album.

well what makes many people hate a7x well...they are commercialise and many people think that a7x is metal or so.
to me they do make good music or so.
everyone love to hear good music even its not metal rite????

even some people from this thread hear green day or linkin park or so ....

When nu-"metal" was at its height, I thought to myself what was happening to heavy metal at that time? Why are these bands passing themselves as metal? Then I found this forum, metal-rules.com. I think TS will find himself right at home there. No posers, just kick ass metal!
