*Note the "Mark 5"

Rect tracking? woow. That would be 1 hell of a tone. Wonder if they incorporate dual rect into Mark V & merge them together?

Yeah... I would get a RW board as well :D

Anyways, care to share the tonal qualities of the maple/rw boards on SSs?

I would like a strat (SS), love the traditional look of the maple board, but it's just so not me... Would love to hear from you guys on the differences, pros, and cons of each?

Honestly, I'm beginning to see less differences between maple boards and RW boards, as opposed to the quality of the body's wood. If you have a very bright resonating wood, it seems to have more of an overall effect compared to changes in the neck itself.

Also, I'm finding that (though not enough samples) lighter shades of RW boards tend to have brighter tones than single piece maple necks.

So, honestly, I'd go RW fully. I like maple, but only because of the looks. RW in some cases seems to have a snappier and brighter response than maple lei... I'm also confused.

Maple looks good with a nutty headstock...
RW need to have a matching headstock to look "complete"...
IMHO of course

With all due respect!

But it just doesn't do it for me...

Well, I think natty headstocks are nice on more traditional looking guitars and colours. Why someone would buy a natty headstock JP6 mystic dream, I have no idea... Whahahaha...

Though I know there's one running around:mrgreen:

P.S. And an RG550 would look funny with a natty headstock.

Whats those creamy pickups dude?

Originally HFH and FRED. Changing to PAF Joe and FRED. The HFH was nice, but not enough juice lei... super low output... whahaha... I wanted it to sound like my CS69s, which have similar DC resistance. But somehow it didn't turn out that way... whahahaha...

I got here a set of brand new Dimarzio Steve Morse HBs in cream, may suit your hardtail as they are not f-spaced.
