The 2nd one is a Fender USA P Special. Discontinued in 1997. Its on loan to me by a friend, who fitted it with a badass II bridge and replaced metal knobs with the classic plastic ones.
Yup, I bought the Zon Legacy from Ken, Master of T-birds. Its like a very agressive pbass: loud and full of punch. Something like Entwistle's "My Generation". Low low action and great sustain. POW!
one more... think i posted this up a while back and someone noticed the block inlays.
it's a 1970 fender jazz which i snagged last year. not in the best condition. careless refret job (really jumbo frets), changed pots, one of the bridge posts (?) is a replacement, no neck date and corners are self repainted (ugly) black. but the cracks in reveal the white primer.
can't say its a collectors item, but its got the classic passive jazz nasal sound to it. the single coil hum on it is fantastic. turn off the neck pup and you got your "PARP" tuba sound to it. turn on both and its super slappable. i like to double it up with the mxr di and bass pod under the setting "classic jazz" to pump up the sound.
