Hey guys! Can u guys tell me wat so gd abt taylor guitar and martin guitar??
Besides their quaility,,is their sound really that good??

YES! damn nice la! my teacher had a martin, and my uncle has taylors. the sound...just...wow! damn nice!

but do look out for other guitar brands too! but if i have the money, i would want a martin.

taylor according to their website... erm... is import one... heh heh... but i'm not sure if any singapore shops got sell... but the authorised dealer is at some east coast condo. go check they taylor webbie,

Taylors have a very open, airy and bright sound. Might be jarring to some, I know I got sick of them after a while :/ but that's just personal experience.

You might want to take a look at Timothy or Simon & Patrick guitars. Sigma guitars aren't too bad either from what I've seen and heard for myself :)

try taylors at sinamex, which is at peace centre near dhoby ghaut/bugis MRT. taylors tend 2 be brighter n cut thru more. martins tend 2 b mellower.

hmmm ... taylors got this... great resonance and clarity.. first time i picked one up and strummed , i could feel the whole guitar resonating against my ribs... true that the sound will not beat a 10yr old martin or santa cruz ...etc... but its got a beautiful broken in feel fresh off the rack.

i tried a couple of martins at city music... abit muddy for my tastes..

my taylor never dissapoints... though my playing might.

** and do check out the ES system ... wonderful sounding

Don't be suckered in by the whole brand thing. Yes. They do sound nice. But there are cheaper alternatives out there.

Anyway, if you live near the coastal areas be prepared to get lots of dehumidifying equipments. I used to own a Taylor 814CE. It's really a PITA to maintain it.

i dig martins more. warmer and mellow. taylors are brighter more spank.

isn't that only determine by the body wood? e.g. cedar top vs spruce top. Same guitar series with different wood top, will give different different tone.

true but the few i played gave me that general impression. thr martin range sound mellower to me.

Hey wonder why no body mention Maestro Guitars? they are great stuff too ya know! local guitar company somemore.. isnt it worth supporting n buying? i tried their solid top guitars, they are great! i can say they are very close to what those "branded" guitars can offer.

just my 2cents!

Hi guys,

i'm thinking of buying a Martin 000X1, dun wanna spend too much and dun wanna have a guitar will be too affected in our humid weather. Of course hope this will have some of the martin sound despite the cheaper price....
