I didn't write a long email.
I focused on the main points like, the venue change, the ticket price, and all that's messed up.
And I specially mentioned how disappointed the fans were.
So after asking me for my name and number, I haven't heard ANYTHING from them since.

Hi guys. I just spoke to the LAMC founder.. She says that DXO imposed the age limit rules and they can't go against it.. Its hard to find another good location cos no one would want to rent out their space on Saturday night..and for the amount of people, the cost has to be in mind too. They will not be using DXO sound system but the LAMC one. But ultimately..its the music that matters, not the location.
As for the bands pulling out, its nothing LAMC could do, its last minute..
All those still grumblin like kids.. just freakin get refunds?! Be glad there still is that option

LAMC can actually just book that bloody place and we won't have this age limit nonsense. Its either 1) DXO asking too much (Sat night mah) and 2) DXO wants to earn liquor money so dun wan close their bar.

Why was it tough to book other places. They already had fort canning anyway...I'm so pissed!
This whole thing is a freakin disaster. They should just cancel it and bring the bands back seperately to prevent such a weak show. I predict boos and a kind of a dead crowd. Most metalcore fans are under 18 anyway cos its a new generation kind of genre.

Some people seem to think putting up a concert is very huh...
To rent Fort Canning for an event is pretty cheap to book the space. In fact a one day rental will only cost you around 1Kplus.
What kills you is the stage /soundsystem and lighting system you have to bring in.
The way a company like LAMC will work is they wil book the space first, then wait and see on ticket sales to see how much they can spend on sound and lights. The more tickets sold the more they can afford to spend on that area.
In this case the ticket sales were obviously very poor leaving LAMC with no budget to rent sound system etc and forcing them to downscale the venue at the last min.
Of course they would also want an all ages venue as they know that refunds reduce their income, however, there are very few places they could even consider and no club in the world would agree to an all ages show taking their whole saturday night (unless you pay them don't know how many thousands to rent the place because that is what they expect to make in drink sales that night)
it sucks but thats the way the cookie crumbles.
I guess the Singapore metal core crowd is not as big as you all think it is.

It's either there's a big following but just too cheap for their own good. Or a very small following and just couldn't be bothered to buy the tickets cause their more busy downloading songs.

"wah i love this band so much!"
"wah they come singapore! but i have no money leh..."
Bullshit! If i didn't have enough money to see my favorite band, i would sell all my clothes, my guitar, any furniture i could find, steal money from my parents, mug someone, the list goes on.
So to all you 'fans', do you really love the band or do you just love the IDEA of loving the band?

I remembered injuring myself so I could get MC to see a concert.

Cos its a last minute thing? And since 2 bands r pullin out u still think fort canning is awesome for such a small crowd? Renting fort canning probably cost more than whatever tickets they already sold, and ppl are still refunding cos they're freakin pissy. Cancelling the whole show it costs money. Bringing them separately costs EVEN MORE MONEY. Plus..its hardly metalcore. :/ ew

anyway i wont think any miracle is going to happen and this is the 1st time i hear that no concert or gigs for those under 18, i really feel sad to hear that. i think when next time got ppl told me music that no diffend in country or culture and i will told them those under 18 no metalcore for them becos of their age. i really understand those ppl that under age maybe this is the only chance to catch the bands live, and i hope the music for them is not a trend the music is like apart of our body and i guess alot of concert org they wont understand that, for them $$$ come 1st.

dude as i lay dying is one of those bands that really put metalcore on the dot of this earth man, besides bands like All Out War and others. they put metalcore in the eyes of the world attention so call mainstream underground music, killswitch and them were consider one of those bands that popularize this genre man. Go and search at youtube and you could find vids of them way back to 2k6. vids of bands just starting to popularise metalcore, though im not a metalcore scene kid, i did listen to their music back in the days when there is a place where metalcore and other local metal genre bands thrives, those older batch of metal or hardcore musicians would know, its call i.j gordan ind building.=)
