Strings- likes & dislikes...

have been using d'addarios for years and years... i find them to be very consistent especially over a long period (i'm very lazy and don';t like changing my strings). The D'addarios can last me for 6 mths at a stretch, and after playing for a while i'll just need to fold a piece of tissue over the strings and give it a good hard wipe. Plus, they're cheap!
 
6months for 1 set of strings??

forgive me if i misuderstood your statement.
dont you think 6months is abit too long? actually way too long.
 
does davis sell those fastfret sticks? never tried them. so how do you use them? apply and wipe off? i wanna move away from d'addarios. have been using them ever since..

yes i used to use dean markley blue steel's gauge 9... tehy sound good and feel good but they rust like crap, gonna convert to ernie ball super slinky

btw i tried a pack of those black diamonds and its stinks cuz the black coat eventually comes of after u play it like more than 5times and the strings start to rust again, and when u try to wipe of the mositure, even more of the black coat comes off and makes the problem worse.... :x

hey so this DR strings u guys have been talking about, does the black coat ever come off? i reallly want a set of strings that dont rust at all/dont have their stupid coat of colour come off! shiny strings urge u to play! no matter how much i wipe after playing those dam strings kp rusting!
 
same...my curt mangan .10 has corroded or tarnished or rusted or wadeva..

but the feel doesnt change much..apart from the texture bein rough..the strings still seems elastic..

or maebe im juz confused.

just wondering, have any of your guys happen to see ernie ball power slinky around ANY guitar shops. i have checked sinamex, and practically every guitar shop in singapore but i still can't seems to find it. well, there's still a place where i haven't checked yet, the next dealer for ernie ball other than sinamex.

anyway, power slinky is on .11s. i've tried beefy slinky and d addario XL .11s. d addario's XL is the closest i can get compared to power slinky.

for me, d addario rust faster compared to my beefy slinky. it's on my guitar for more than 2 months and i still don't see a single rust. although the tone maybe a little dead, but it's still going strong.

P.S.: I WANT MY POWER SLINKY!!!! :(
