most of the guitar strings with a well known guitar brand attached to it are uninteresting.
I like DR, EH and Elixir.
DR IMHO last quite long, EH cos I'm the dealer and it sounds decent enough and Elixir cos its coated and will sorta last almost forever if you don't use your guitars often. I plan to use them on my favourite but less played guitars... heh heh.... only thing is its almost triple the price.
nightblade: ooh okay. i noticed nobody mentioned about D'addario strings ahah
i'm still using D'Addario strings on days when i'm bored (not alluding to their quality) because they are the very few manufacturers which offer the .0095 gauge...
i used to use dean markley nickelsteel .9s before i changed to curt mangan. dean markley seemed to lose tonal quality pretty fast.. and strings get rusty pretty fast too, as compared to CM, under the same conditions.
Dean Markleys like Ernie Ball, feels/ sounds great when they are fresh. i used to play both & the dead feel made me replace them even if they aren't quite rusty yet...
actually i cant tell the tonal difference as i change my strings quite often but it sure rust pretty fast.anyway where to get the Curt Mangan strings? i think im gonna try this. thanks for the advice dom.
I use 10-46. Ernie balls has a nice twang to it on my guitar, but RUST too fast.
CUrrently using curt mangan, great feel to it. EH also not bad, i was surprised. Just tried this brand called darko if im rite, from citymusic, also not bad for $5
