I'm from a different school.. I think slinging low = harder to play and greater chance of injury.
You go low, you have a guitar that's pretty unstable... it swings easily. Yeah, it is great for moving around, getting the guitar to "move" with you, so to speak.. however, its definately unstable.
2ndly, you usually (usually ah) have to strain to get at some notes so in the long run, you might hurt yourself. Esp when you have to stoop (like a monkey) to reach down.
