Straps

Hmm.

I'm not sure if anyone started a thread on this before.. but anyway.

I'm currently using a leather strap as a birthday present.. it doesn't go very low, or rather as low as I'd like it to: my SG is just hanging around my belt area. Given my love for low-slinging (a la Jimmy Page).. are there good quality leather straps which sling very low out there? if so, where to buy?

the currant super low strap are the ernie ball standard nylon ones...Im tall and they go way low even for me

Hmm.

fgl.. how tall are you.. and if so what is the max those ernie ball straps can go? I'm about 1.77 and although I like the elbow support, sometimes that low-slung thing give you a different feel.

actually all leather straps are adjustable, you juz gotta "untie" the lower end, and "re-tie" it through another "hoop", get wad i mean?

Hmm.

Oh yeah definitely... I placed it until the max.. dun worry.. I know these kinds of things

that said.. I'll prolly check out those levy's at davis *shudders*... why must they be at that place? omg I dread walking in there despite the fact that I have nothing to hide or fear.

you could always try the yamaha combo shop at plaza singapura, i saw this very nice transparent strap by fernandes, and if i'm not wrong i tink shredcow has 1 too

Hmm.

haha.. I like leather straps... because my Epi SG is neck-heavy, the leather straps tend to reduce the 'slipping' which occurs with plastic/nylon straps. That's why I'm kinda avoiding the nylon ones...

lol, just kaypoh, why do you dislike that place? :P

Hmm.

Just the vibe of the place I guess.. somehow I feel as though they are sizing me up (see whether got $$$ or not)... instead of just being friendly.. as you would normally expect sales staff to be. Of course when you're dealing with sales items which cost in excess of 400 bucks you have to very careful.. but no need to be so fierce right? lol

ne1 noe where i can get a nice denim strap? 1 that doesn't look bloated, and loox juz like a regular pair of jeans...

i gave up on leather straps, and i'm juz insanely obsessed with denim

No no.. you don't wanna get that. It looks damn gay!

and i'm almost only dude that has it so I wanna be unique. 8)

Seriously, for straps, you should try the Dimarzio cliploks. Apart from being able to do really low (look at Gilbert) slung, they are the most secure locking straps around. I have a Dimarzio CHROME cliplok strap, the ones that Joe Satriani uses... I might let it go. Oh and the chrome cliplok strap retails @ USD120.

shredcow..

UR THE ONLY DUDE WHO HAS IT?!!

ok..tts unique

hahaha..well..i use planet waves leather strap..doesnt rilli go very low lar..

BUT..considering tt im darn short..(1.6+)..

it goes LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW for me...

LMAO.

my bass is neck heavy..and leather straps prevent slippage.but it tugs on ur shirt collar.which is pretty frustrating at times.

Hehehe... oh btw, since I'm almost the only one with that uber cool Transparent strap... It doesn't go very low, its really the same as a normal leather strap.

darknessfury..im 17 turning 18 diz yr..

IN POLY U NOE...

isnt TT darn short?

Hmm.

-darknessfury- well haah I'm using the leather planet waves strap myself.. but given the fact that I've already 'maxed out' by strap.. I'm wondering if they have like longer 'entension lengths'.. dun need to buy a whole new strap.

I wanna go low.. slowly so as to not hinder my lead playing.
