I'm curious on why California Series is sold but its not in the main webpage of Squire. And I'v check out those California Series on the headstock, it has no serial number. Rumours was saying people sorce for crafters in other country to make immitation Squire and they sell at an average of 300SGD. Some says California Series is made for only South East Asia. Please post your comments.

serial nos. are sometimes removed to safeguard the source/supplier of the product as well as to void any manufacturer's warranty that comes with it.

the retailer in question usually offers their own in-house, local warranty for these products.

this does not mean that the product in question is an imitation.

the removal of serial nos. is practised by at least 1 major distributor locally (i shall not name them) and from what I know, they do have reputable sources.

but then how come California is not on sale on the Squire web? Only for asia market? and the distributer for Fender products should only be swee lee. if the factory is under Fender then swee lee should be the distributer and if so why are they scared of puting serial on it? Or maybe California Series hve been out for some time so people treat it as a original one. sorry but I think its kinda weird.

California series is legit, its only for asian markets.

And why would someone want to imitate a $300-400 guitar?

heh heh.... not related to this thread but why would they forge out RM1 coins? cos its cheap no will notice.

anyway, we're afraid of imitation when we buy expensive guitars.

but for a guitar that is 300-400 and if it is a good playing guitar, you shouldn't worry so much.

RM1 coins were chosen because they were the highest denomination of coins avaliable and its widespread use.

Not because they were valued at RM1 and not readily noticed by people.

For a guitar, you shouldn't worry so much, the california series are sold in Singapore and Malaysia.

I think some play pretty good for its price tag.

I know for one that I won't bother to notice a fake RM1 but thats just me. I'm no expert in forgeries.

Anyway, it makes no real sense to imitate a guitar, mainly cause its harder to push the sales of a guitar, its a SMCG.

Its much easier to make and sell imitation chocolate.
