Squire California Series are they immitations?

oh yea.... I was guessing maybe because the people think is not worth immitating Squire dosent mean there are no people out there doing it. Maybe Squire guitar is much cheaper so people will not suspect them doing fake Squire guitar? If you immitate Gibson and sell it openly I'm sure a lawsuit will be coming after you. Maybe Fender even knew the problem but is it worth it sueing the factory? Anyway its just a sub-brand for them dosent really affect their sales.

Anyway I guess my personally opinion is. The California Series like what people said "Asia Market". And MAYBE they are authorize by Fender. Till the day someone can stand out and really tell the truth till now all this debating is just what people guess. Apart from this I felt that California Series is a real good deal it has nice tone as well and at a real affoardable price. But that dosent tell if they are original yet!

there are selected Jap models in Fender's current (US/ international) catalogue, a few being:

*Jaguar HH
*Aerodyne
*Mustang Bass

Btw I post this topic cause I want to know the truth. So what its Fake or Original. Least you know the truth. Imagine you bought it already but you found out its a Fake. I think I will feel cheated, cheated not cause of the quality but because I dont know the truth that its a Fake.

Example: You marry this girl and you know its a prostitue. But you at least knew the truth bout it so that dosent really matter. But imagine you dont know the truth and after marriage then you found out? And its not cause she's a lousy wife. Im sure you guys will know what is the feeling. Unless you'r a person who marry for the sake of marrying her I think the truth dosent really affect you,

i remember reading this story in the papers a few months ago...
some guy married a hot chick.
then when they had a kid, the guy wondered why his kid looked so ugly.
he dug around and found out his wife had extensive plastic surgery.
he divorced and sued her :P

I think marrying a girl and buying a guitar has no relevance.

Ask for documentations when buying a guitar, that should solve your problems.

Besides the california series have been around for some time.

hmmm.... I'm not that sure bout SX but I'v tried California so as most people did. I think its a good guitar. So far I think you'r the first to praise SX cause I'v a friend his SX pickups drop in the body.

There are a lot of guitars not listed inside the catalogues of either fender OR squier.

For squier,

the california series
vista series
modern bass series
deluxe series

SX guitars are pretty well made, how does it "drop into the body"?

yea the SX electronics arent great.
but the construction of the neck to me is better.
tho like with all cheap guitars, you have to try them all to find one that fits.

same goes with the california series.
i once tried 3 different ones, was just curious on them.
needless to say, there was varying levels of QC.

if you are particular about feel & prefer the satin type Fender finish, the SX is a close alternative.

the California's satin finish (neck) is much thinner, you can almost feel the bare wood.

lols. kinda puzzled me too. So far the SX I'v see have good craftmanship. But not only SX so as most of the guitar. I guess the competition for China guitar here is high so least you goto have good craftmanship. So its common here... Even TGM oso have good craftmanship. So now the TONE is what matters most in SG. maybe in 3rd world country its even hard finding a guitar with a decent craftmanship.

I've been to a shop that has a few SX guitars, the guitars have a tag " hand crafted " on them.

I inspected the finish and built, I'd say they are pretty good.

Theres a lot of guitars out there that are not so prestigous branded, but the quality is good.

I've seen a cort bass with BIRDSEYE MAPLE neck.

It was on a rack and I saw the back of the neck and was stunned, i turned around and saw it was a CORT, the shop keeper told me price was ~500.

Like wow, too bad I have a bass, else I'd have snapped it up.

It plays well, action is lowish, neck is damn smooth.
Can you imagine birds eye maple on a 500 dollar guitar. I think manufactuers will cringe and slit their own throat.
