Interesting, although I find a few points that are debatable.
I think the person who created the group probably did not consider a few things when he made a few points.
Let's start off with the one I laughed the most:
"Despite the fact that Singlish is the most widely used language in Singapore, the language is carefully avoided by the broadcast media and rarely used in public speeches."
Singlish is
not considered a language. Yes, take it down. It is
NOT a language. It is merely a collection of words that are not in the English dictionary, in other words, a form of slang language. Every country will have their own slang. Australia will call their buddies "mates", America "bro" & "dawg", Singapore "kaki" "ah bang" "gor", and the list goes on.
A quick check with wikipedia shows that Singlish is considered an
"English Dialect". Yes, a dialect.
If one those bother to consider, you do realise that when we speak "Singlish" it is mainly English, mixed/replaced with other words from the other various dialects/lanugages that we know, or its just the way we pronounce it.
I shan't comment on his other points due to lack of knowledge, although I did notice one VERY interesting thing...
In a video posted to Obama, opposition leader Mr Chee said he hopes that the US "will pay more attention to the human rights abuses of the Singapore government".

I find this laughable, simply because if they even bothered staying in Singapore for some time and actually get to know a few facts, we all know that Chee Soon Juan took his facts and completely distorted the truth
Which is the same thing the creator of this facebook group is doing
