I heard from a friend... a fellow malay biker murdered in malaysia custom last night. His gf was raped but donno if she survived the attack. Lets wait for the news tonight. Hope they are well... god bless

My advice, which I think most could be already observing...

Well... SGeans must not be complacent and be alert while entering Msia; especially to those ULU places like Kelong eating places... I also witness something before, but not sharing though...

As long as you are careful, don't show off, etc.. Things will be fine, JB is still a good and nice place to visit.

1. Avoid those secluded places, esp when u are alone or with gf.
2. Avoid driving your Kompressor or BMW 7 series to those kelong eating places, or ulu country clubs ALONE. If you die die need to, at least with your few kakis then that will be safe.
3. If there are people tail gating you along the highway, please try to go abit faster and goto middle lane / avoid the person. Else he knocks you, you get out of car.. You know what will happen.
4. Don't show off your nice mobile phone on your necks/ put on table while eating
5. Always wear ur handbag in the sling manner, not juz on your shoulder.

Added:

6. Having a pepper spray would be good, but over at customs, sometimes they confiscate
7. Some techniques over there involves drenching you with kerosene. Please surrender everything if that happens. Life is more important.

Lastly again, be alert yourself. Don't be ya ya papaya, it doesnt actually help in any parts of the world either, even in SG...

If there aren't any typo error for the words in bold, then I would say 'Whoah!'. I think their criminals are really not 'kucing kurap' or stray cats on the street.

But I guess that in the end of the day, if you got caught and got the huge cash to spare, it can do wonders in Malaysia if you got in there.

Man I'm guessing the Malaysians are getting pretty sick at Singaporeans who tend to show off more than they should. But to actually kill somebody, man they really mean business. :?

hey xspace, you wrote about having a pepper spray which would be good. How do you get one of those?

Those condomania shops should have... Or if you are in JB, holiday inns, those novelty shops should have it too...

The people who kill in malaysia are either the gangsters(ones with nice big guns) or the people who really need the money. Malaysia is safe la i think, but its not entirely safe. I mean i go there real often, and so far, god bless, nothing has happened... Best is when they ask for money, just give. Value your life. If you live in malaysia, get a gun license.

Ahhh...I keep hearing more news about malaysia lately...

Well my mum friend, who was in Malaysia Weeks back, overheard a big group of malaysians at the taxi stand *translated* "If we see singaporeans, We'll finish them off"

I was like *Bloody Hell"* after hearing this man.....Even the police there are corrupted fom what i hear...

You have to be really cautious when you go to JB or KL in Malaysia, I aways have 2 wallets when I go there, the one with the IC , sg money and credits card is never taken out in the open, only the m'sian loose change is taken out in the open to pay for things . I also used my old simple samsung phone there too. it is always better to blend in with the locals than stick out like a sore thumb over there. Despite this precaution I still had my credit card clone in a hotel in KL 2 years ago, so just be careful when you go there .

cheers

His car's[fairlady] got snatched away before, but somehow he got it back. They pointed some knife at him and he gave them his car. And it's during the day, outside some factories.

When he filling up his oil tank at the petrol station, some m'sian youths tried to snatch his phone but they fell and ran away w/o the phone.

I don't think msia used to be like this eh?

It's horrifying man. :(

seriously from what i see, the officials aren't any good cause many of them are corrupt. i think they would rather join in than helping cause if they help, they wouldn't gain anything monetary but if they join in, at least they can "share"... not that i have anything against the malaysian authorities or something, but its pretty obvious that they're corrupt.

Dude, this kind of thing happened everywhere every day in any part of the world, not only in Malaysia. It happened in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Mexico City, Sydney, Melbourne, London, New Orleans and even New York city.

No need a big hooha about this. But we just need to stay alert, anywhere, anytime. We people in Singapore have been living in comfort zone for so long that such thing sounds like a big thing in our ears. And we had taken for granted the comfort that we are having, thinking that anywhere else, it's the same situation as in SG.

Very well said.

Hi, I'm a malaysian, from JB, but i used to study in singapore la. now back in KL continuing further studies. As a malaysian i do love my country but there are reports like this that make me feel sad . I think in general i have to agree that singapore as a country is safer than malaysia as a whole. but at the same time we have to understand that malaysia in a lot of ways is still underdeveloped, both as a nation and in the mindset. There are places in malaysia or even JB that EVERYONE should avoid at night, not only singaporeans. at the same time there is also some resentment towards singaporeans. I guess what i'm trying to say is that the main thing is to be careful. sometimes singaporeans forget that they are not in their country, and although it is only a causeway apart, the way of life and mindset are quite different. just voicing my opinions.

its not that malaysians are unfriendly or anything its just cause of all this crime and stuff thats making everyone think twice on whether they ever wanna step foot into malaysia again.there are reali nice ppl there but there are also really desperate ppl there too.
