Soft's Drummer / Drum Exchange- SLOGAN and IDENTITY needed

The banner has four holes on top. Can maybe we can buy 4 heavy duty ones. Sure can hold one.

I use a heavy duty one to hang my wet towel. It's strong. And my towel is big. Wet towel I think sure heavier than the banner. LOL!

Cos if use strings/rope, must tie/anchor somewhere also right?

i believe they are filipinas.. am i ryte??
hahahahaha

shud go manila, got much better ones there!
got like celebrity also!
hahahaha.. sigh... the memories........

ok ok.....

back to the subject... HEY COOL !!!!!!
we got banners!!!!

killerbee's idea sounds good. At least the 3M hooks can be fixed and taken down just for the meet up right?

coincidentally, I just saw one of those 3M hooks at home, in the package. it says max weight is 2kg. hmm..more hooks = higher max weight? I duno man.

it's removeable yes, but preferable we shouldn't have to move the banner too often, cos then we have to keep buying the new backing for the hooks. each hook comes with just 2 backings.

It is good to go down in advance and take a look for possibilities to hang the banner... it is not wise to assume... avoid the anxious moment if things don't work out on that day itself... I can be down to do a recce... RD, can sms me Bernard's Hp no. so I may get info on when the room will be opened on weekdays?

By the way, I can't be there early as the seminar I am attending has changed its date to 29 Sep... I will be down around 2pm+ ...

yeah..
i think more hooks can hold more weight though
i can come early to help put up the banner

DH: Ok shall let you know Bernard contact - thks

thanks also to you all for helping to put up the Banners there.

DullTheater: Hahahaha yes - Philippinos they are - Danncing as a Career here. Yeap of course those there are more Professional (depending on where you go and also at what time) - I go there to Manila, Davao & Cebu on Business Trip as regards to Toyota...hahaha !

Update: Drum Exchange Singapore (DES) Logo:-

My friend do not have the Software, but he is trying very hard to get his Student (very good in Art) to draw The Logo (Which he Designed and fax to me in a rough Format)...it was appropriate.

He use the Letters - DES to design a Drum (only added a Ride with stand & a Hi-Hat with stands) - - - - This was roughly sketch out - but look nice as a Logo...Well we'll wait and see......just an Update here.

The Tee-Shirt Maker-downloaded the file (on the Tees) from Weckl link....Gave some Ideas on how it will look better - He says word Singapore try not to be slanting & smaller (so it will look better more formal)...but too bad - He can't come up with Ideas on the LOGO....It's not easy.

Upon completion of the Logo (if appropriate) - Tee-Shirt Maker will bring Tees (in S, M, L, XL, XXL) to let Members try size on Meetup Day - We give him the Full Payment (if one t-shirt ordered from a person), or (a 50% deposit for 2 Tees ordered).....he make finished deliver to us at Exchange....something like that.

thats great RD bro....

once the tshirt finalised, let me help to coordinate the orders, cos i know you're taking up precious time from your day job and other commitments to do this.

cheers!!!

ay marc, relak ah...1 thing at a time. the tee design is still in the works. am sure RD will keep us updated if he finds out more info. if you do need a ballpark figure, tink $20 should cover it.

personally, i think there isn't a need to come earlier than 12 noon, no need to trouble Bernard lah. but just come on time will be good enough, then while some people get the drums ready, the rest can help with the banner. :D

Thank you very much Bro ALfie as always very helpful & understanding....and also all the committee and members for your help & assistance.

I do not know the prices as yet - but rest assured we will try to get it at a best prices (comparing similar quality) with other suppliers - and most important - Commitment from the T-Shirt-Maker that he must accept orders after the 1st bulk-purchase here - and continuously supply and deliver these Tees to any members (New & current) Members of Drum Exchange Singapore - within a month (hopefully collection can be done at every monthly meetup) - the details we can work with them later - but this is most important.

PS; - I hope to get the Tees at around S$10.00 per Tees....maximum S$12.00 (if superb quality is there)...

i really hope everyone in soft drum forum will support this tshirt thing

rest assured we will not earn even 1 cent from selling the shirt (it will be as according to the cost the supplier charge us)

---

that said, there is NO obligation to purchase the tshirt.

i just wanted to say this in case any softies feel obligated or uncomfortable or may have personal reasons for not opting in.

but we really LOVE you (oh gawd the cheese) if you purchase it, because we need everyone to stick together in order to GROW this thing.

the message that we want to send here (purely out of passion) is UNITY.

it is the growth of soft drum exchange that has enabled us to start getting sponsorships and donation.

eric must have said this many times before (sorry eric i repeated) that we must keep growing and stay united.

hopefully one day the whole singapore can hear our soft drums!

cheers!!!!

hello..this is my effort in creating the logo...:) hope you guys like it...

starvingartists - you sure knows Art.

Were you the one I sent the e-mail to you this morning - The Graphic Designer? ......... (YES you're the one - I just checked)...

Nice.eee Work - very creative too -

Just wondering - Is it possible to have the www.soft.com.sg & Drum Exchange Singapore at the Front of the Tee-Shirt.

The Inspired To Drum, Drumming To Inspired at the back of the Tee-Shirt instead..

It is preferred - (just a thought - we are no expert here)

if possible to have www.soft.com.sg & Drum Exchange Singapore in Orange as corporate colour

Also the Drumstick & Logo to be in Orange - also as Corporate colour

Because - There will be 2 Tee-Shirt colour - Basically White & Black colour as Base. colour

Logo - A drumkit as Logo will be appropriate as it synergise with Drum Exchange Singapore .... rather than a Snare because - Singapore DrumFest is also using a Snare as their Icon.

Nevertheless - wow.wwww thank you so much for the great effort - it was nice really - please can you help us here - I know you are good in this.

PS: - - - Fellow Drummers - don't you think it's beautiful ?

Lovely work!

Might wanna ask the rest about the R-H-N ligature as it kinda forms a 'cross'. I once knew a friend who refused consider buying a Chevrolet car because the logo has a 'cross' in it.

Think the 'star' shows a hint of patriotism, which is cool. Thanks for the effort :)
