Softies from Temasek Poly!

As part of the management(committee), I can safely say I did allow people to join, then I form FOR THEM their bands. Some of them are good, most of them withered and told us that they weren't able to make it.

And it's better to take bands straight from the ground too, it makes them ready to jam already and wastes lesser time to monitor progress and how the band is coming along. It doesn't matter if you are a new band or not, if you're good, you're in.

Some of the bands even just formed when they just heard about auditions..so yes, I think..it's a great way to eliminate people who are just not willing to commit cause if you are willing to commit to the CCA, you WILL try your best to find members.

Any Year students can still join. And no, auditions only happen when it happens ;)

U guys take in part time students or not? hahha.. juz kidding. even if u do, i dun think we'll have the time to jam also. Daytime busy with work, then evening attend classes.. haizzz..

aenimic, ur from the management committee of music vox? well ok first of all i know that its definitely not easy at all to help manage a cca so yea any complaints that i or i think anyone makes should be taken e right way i hope.:D

Ok now, i think the sorting according to genres is smart. What i think u should add is a skill gauge. either playing for how many years, or on a scale of 1-10 ask the person to rate him/herself. even if some lie, at least there would be SOME form of improvement.

hope this suggestion is useful cuz i left (kinda left i guess) music vox cuz my band SUCKED!!! haha. and im sure there can be damn good bands formed so yea maybe this skill gauge might be good?

Did that already. Thank you for the suggestion still. I called each one of those individual people who signed up and tell me what kind of music and how long have they been playing. It's hard work. Near a hundred names and I handle it by myself..but I'm not gonna gripe cause of that.

And yes,I sorted members according to genre and gender mixture too.

Some of them even said they were classically trained..but sound like crap with the other members. What to do right?

All I can say right now, is that I gave equal opportunity for everyone ever since the new comm members came into play. If you aren't in,then don't blame the committee...you must have done something wrong ;) Rejection isn't easy but take it constructively and try again soon.

And I don't think we're running recruitment this year. ;) But just keep a lookout.

There is a band in Music Vox that was formed by people who signed up individually, and they performed well during the auditions, but such occurences is not common, it is still better for you to have your own bands because the chemistry tends to be there already.

Enjoy your first day of school.
