Getting users to register on luthermusic is a really bad move. Singapore music market is already so small and limited and yet you enforce more restrictions in buy/sell in classified. I dont get the point. Its slowing down the whole second hand market. Maybe this is done to do the dealers and secondhand dealers more good, but this is definitely bad for consumers like us.
Look at usa classified, theres like hundreds of ads per day, of cos alot of junk/prank. But then, thats how the free market should be. It encourages the volume and hence the liquidity of the market.
May it be overpriced, spam ads etc, as long as the market is moving fast, it do the consumer good. We cant help when some kids abuse the classified, but then as buyer/seller we have to use our common sense and judgement in dealing. Ppl learn, dont they. Why worry about this and slow down the whole market.
My experience is that its harder for me to get my gears off now as compared to last time. And also i feel the whole second hand market is crippled. Remember last time there luthermusic, yahoo ads and soft. What happened to Yahoo ads? only 2 or 3 dealers are selling their stuff there, i think u know who. Now luthermusic is restricting the use of the classified. Of cos SOFT is doing well in this situation. Sometimes i really wonder if this is the strategy that the local dealers employ to their advantage.
Nonetheless, I am grateful to Luther for setting up the classified since a long time ago. That was the great move! Singapore and some malaysian musicians owe this to luther. SOFT being free and easy is great for all of us. SOFT just get better everyday! But one thing i feel that forum is slower than ads in terms of time to transaction.
No offense to any party. Just my thoughts.
