use a right handed kit, but play with an open-handed style. meaning your left hand leading on the hi hats. that way you don't have to cross hands and can play fill-ins with your left hand keeping time.
plus if you're ambidextrous then probably both your feet are equally capable too. which translates to double pedals.. but basically everything can be conditioned and trained. so yea...just a slight advantage but you still need to practice a lot.
