heard of gibson skylark...sumone sellin it on lutehr b4 at 500

Go for the Champ I think. Not too sure with the pricing, but it's definitely under 1K...

Sweet tones - subjective. I won't comment on this part since everyone has a different opinion of what is good tone. The trick is to listen and judge for yourself what is good.

Go down to Sweelee and try out the Valbee and Champ if you can (and if they stock them at the moment). Contacts, whatever, drop by www.sweelee.sg.

i thot the champ is already out of production?

The smallest fender tube amps currently are the pro junior or the blues junior i think.

Just realised that the Skylark mentioned may be the one that I rebuilt a couple of years back. Put a tweed champ circuit in it if I remember rightly.

The original Skylark uses a EL84 in the power stage and I put a 6V6 in instead (just like the champ) and it has a diode rectifier instead of the tube one. She sounded pretty good and I sold it to a blues player who really liked the tone, so check it out if it's still up on Luthers.

Cheers,

Hi Mark,

That's probably another Skylark on the market, because the one you sold me has been with me for a couple of years now (since 2003 i think?), and I've not tried to sell it yet! It still sounds as great as the day I heard it at your place though.

Btw, I only recently found out you left -- I was in your area a few months back and thought of getting you out for a drink, but couldn't contact you.. good to hear that you're still around though. Is your old email add still valid?

CHeers!

you just took the mojo out :(

Hi Gsonique - sorry about that, but most of the Marshalls have diode rectifiers and they have plenty of Mojo!

Hi Insomniac - Glad to hear it's still rocking. Change the tubes often and she should last you a few more years without problems. My email add is oddysseus.mark@gmail.com . Changed it before I left as my Dad has broadband here in Oz. Drop us a line anytime your free and we can chew the fat.

cheers.

Mark
