Hi all.

Just came across this discontinued pedal on the skreddy page.

Any owners of this pedal? Any thoughts on it?

Ive seen the demos on Skreddys web, just wanna know your opinions guys

Did a shoot out between the Skreddy Pink Flesh, Top Fuel, Mayo and Goose's Fudge 73.

The Pink Flesh had the meanest, heaviest rhythm tones... clear and grinding. Really mean stuff.

But you wanna buy one now, you pay a TON of $.

Same for the Mayo.

I didn't enjoy the Top Fuel so I wouldn't recommend it.

Goose's Fudge 73 was not bad too - stood toe-to-toe with the Skreddys. Survived and best some in certain areas. Not bad.

malcolm, aka empty71 in the forum here is the dealer for skreddy in singapore

Those out of production, discontinued skreddy pedals now, were standard pedals which he brought in when it was still in production. So i guess there are actually more people around who has the pedal, tried the pedal at some point of time.

^ Wow the Pig Mine looks like something I'd want to get. And sorry, I haven't tried the Pink Flesh, but why are you asking? Do you know someone selling one?? WTB!

Lol jordan no la i just come across pedals that are not frequently mentioned and i have v little knowledge of them and TGP doesnt offer much too.

Decided to inquire from here :)

From the man himself,
Well, like I said; it'll be intended to cop those specific recorded instances where Gilmour uses a Big Muff-style fuzz. I actually used that video where somebody compares a Top Fuel with a Cornish P2 as my guide (since I'm shooting for a P2-type sound for this one).

Basically it'll use modern, off-the-shelf components (no mojo or rare stuff), follow the classic Big Muff topology (as opposed to the Top Fuel which took a couple of significant departures), have very usable, versatile ranges in the sustain and the tone knobs, and it'll feature a switch to take the mids from just slightly scooped to just slightly boosted. The gain will be high enough to get plenty raucus and sustainy but will be controlled enough to be quiet and precise.

Shredcow man u managed to try out the pink flesh ?? woah from whom man

Yeap, Pathein got it.. it was a while back... and Malcolm + Goose where there to listen too.

They all have their merits - The Skreddys all excelled over the rest in single areas, so there is a variety of tone/feel there. The Fudge 73 was a terrific all rounder. It was using the older Fudge 73 setup though... hmmm... so if Goose is not making the old one... eh, hold on... hmmmm...

Yeah, during that comparison, the Fudge 73 was the older version - had different transistors. That was the terrific all-rounder.

Now, since I had both old and new 73s... If memory serves me right, the new 73 might sound closer to the Pink Flesh. A similar amp was used (I have a Gries 5) so I think that might be the case.

Worth your while I guess.

two types ...

2n5133 --> good ones hard to come by ....and expansive.
Nice grind, natural mids and lots of sustain. Used exclusively in the Triangle muff. No other transistor can substitute this fella...period!!

2n5088 --> the best batch are NOS late 70's ~ early 80's by a certain manufacturer only. Gives depth with a tad more added bass, aggressive, nice sustain but not as crazy as the 5133's but has better consistency..

Yup... some reading this will debunk as mojo talk ...oh well ...shove it!

Skreddy makes great pedals and his attention to fine details is almost obsessive.

giving 4d number ah, goose bro

hmm, 5133 and 5088, i bought couple of those quite a while back, but i guess its prolly leaky or too cheap to be good for those muff diving only activity.
