Frankly, Douglas O would be laughing his a*s off this "self-proclaimed rock star" who admire Axl Rose n wants to be like him (in ST Life section), but end of the day, cannot even "tarek" the rock tone properly. Sounds more like a toad croaking when he tries to roughen his voice. This young punk should go hear how Douglas sing, and feel ashamed for the rest of his life. But then again, he's probably too young to catch Mr. Oliveiro in his glorious days.
More of an average, not too bad singer, the biggest problem with Sim is probably his lost of identity instead. If one proclaims to be a rocker, he does not also try to sound like boybands or trying to make a name for himself as Singapore's Jay Chou. Jay's a hardcore R&B, n his music is far away from rock. These 2 just don't blend together. Well, like most ppl, he can try to slyly "roti-prata" his statement later by proclaiming versatility. But sadly, that just threw him into the same category of "everybody else" then.
A rocker is someone who swears to his roots, even when all the young girls in the world hate rock N'Roll (we're near!). A true- blue rocker's 1st priority is never abt selling-out, but to share this raw sugar that lives in his blood, and even when its means a drop in sales figure. End of the day, he's just another sucker (oops, do i mean singer?) who would do anything for fame.
In the near future, he would see his dreams come true as chinese record companies come flooding their offers for a contract. But as time goes by, he'll just be another identityless, easily-forgotten average singer.
