Simple Songs that Speak Volumes

Listen to some:
Jeff Buckley
Lynnerd Skynerd
acoustic alchemy...

its all about the melody...

and after you're done listening to these guys..go listen to an yngwie song and a satch song... see the difference between yng and satch 8O

I don't subscribe to malmy... too overdone. While he has my respect for being an innovator originally, he has fallen into repetition.

Satch, is... fine-er than Malmy.

Its really hard, trying to make an instrumental more like a song, with a melody because I don't have lyrics.... usually end up doing silly runs up and down, up and down.

Rob Balducci has some nice, restrained, stuff...

why i like satch...is his simplicity....at the end of the day...if u cant headbob...there aint no point in life

I hated balducci's playing on the demo for tremolo no...i hope his cd is better

ahh yeah simon and garfunkel are good for that sorta thing. their dvd is awesome.

scarabrough fair is agreat song, sound of silence aswell.

Zakk wyldes unplugged spoke in the wheel is another great song like that.

bob dylan is awesome

classic 60' and 70's folk music just kicks arse anyway.

try nick drake.

Nick Drake has 2 sides. The utterly stripped down side which is him and an acoustic tuned to some weird-ass tuning... and him with full orchestration, band and an acoustic tuned to some weird-ass tuning... (which basically is what Belle & Sebastian based their entire career on)

..

i personally like five leaves left.

the string arrangements are haunting.

but not to discount his amazing skills on the guitar.

I happen to enjoy the Click5's music. I thought they play very well, the compositions are varied and good. Rocks my boat more than... simple plan.

i shall try not to comment on the respond above....

anyway no body digs tori amos around here? sarah machlachlan?

Eh... there're loads of music that is good but has absolutely NO guitars in it. If you are interested, the bros bros here can recommend...
