Call me shallow, but I bought an Yngwie Strat because I love Yngwie, I think it was kind of secondary that it also happens to be an excellent well-made guitar with a scalloped neck that happens to be reasonably good value.
In further shallowness, I would never buy a Good Charlotte (what's his name? Billy Martin?) PRS, nor a K7 Munky Ibanez or a Tom Delonge whatever because I hate those artists and what they embody. <oh I will get a lot of flame for this> irrespective of whether these are good instruments or not.
Sorry for my honesty here. It's not so totally black and white though - I'm sure a Jimmy Page Ltd. edition Tom murphy-aged guitar is an excellent piece of kit (JP also happens to be my all time favourite musician and guitarist) - I just think that a bit of a waste of money.
