Nope, it's only necessary if you want to record more than 2 mic-inputs. The Emu 0404 USB is rather hard to find though. Back when i bought it, only the Creative main showroom at their jurong headquarters listed it. Even then they didn't have stock and i had to wait like a month or so before they had a few pieces. Luckily i reserved one cos they were all taken within the day or so after they contacted me. I think they don't see much demand locally so they aren't exactly stocking the shelves with them. Support is rather crap too. No new drivers at all (cept for maybe the STILL beta vista drivers).

hey luke... is the roland MV8800 worth it? i already have sa fantomX... considering to sell it and get a fantomG... what can the MV do that the fantomX/G cant? and vice versa? having a fantomG and an MV on the side would be overkill?

hmmm...sorry i don't have any experience using Roland's Fantom keyboards but while their engines might at first seem similar, you should think of the MV more as a modern version of the MPC series of beat samplers. it excels at beat oriented music and its user interface reflects that. it has a generous internal hd of 40gb and a built-in vga-out (which in the earlier mv-8k, was an option), 2 midi-outs for sequencing external instruments and a rudimentary bassline synth engine like a stripped down sh-201. i have owned it for almost a year and have been generally happy with it. if you have specific questions about it, feel free to PM me. also, there is a very big mv community online and you can probably learn much more reading the forum there...

while a lot of the users there are using the mv for hip hop production, i think it is equally at home in other beat-oriented genres.

I'm happy with it...comes close to the original though i'm sure discerning ears would be able to tell them apart
It is easy to program and there are fans out there writing OS for it that adds cool functionalities (such as swing, backwards/pendulum playing modes, etc). Yea, the waiting list is mad...are you on it?
2 alternatives spring to mind: acidlab bassline (the new version 2 has a much improved interface) and future retro R2. Just talking about them is stirring my GAS hahahahaha better stop

Ohh..nono..haha..it's just a copy of a classical piece score titled "Mariage D'amour" by Paul de SENNEVILLE. The ring book behind it is a chord dictionary
May I know where do you guys get those speakers?
Fairly big but about your monitor size ones. (Usually placed beside computers *those in pictures)
Are those normal computer speakers? Can't seem to find any in the market.

think behringer had some of those around. think this is one of the latest models they have.
