Drums sounds are more or less the same one lah, maybe the Timbre of the sound might vary. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Its like different kinda stuff uses different kinda sounds lah, Like those big 80s rock, the Snare is like how huge with the reverb and maybe a touch of echo. but thats all post-production processing or maybe in Reggae, the snare sounds more ringy, or in jazz the rides are more bell like, in most rock the ride is more splashy.
But essentially the drum set is the same, usually 2-3 toms, one snare one bass, Hi-hats and Cymbals, be it Crash, Ride, Splash, a second crash, whatever. People usually have 3 toms, but some ppl can have 4 or a whole lots more.
Its pretty standard set lah, just the sound ppl like to vary alittle to suit their style.

i like the setup.. 1 tom tom and 2 floor toms, but the cymbals are too much for me

i juz added a new Esnare to the family. reconditioned/refinished a used sonor 14" steel snare
next im gonna make myself some diy drum triggers for my double pedals
