Share: Personal ghostly encounters...

Well, basically I am not a extreme religious person although I do listen to sermons regularly. (I think this applies to all religions)

My Bishop, pastors and elders always tell me, demons and spirits tend to go for followers who are not strong in their beliefs or simply non-followers. Demons and spirits see a potential victim as the weak link between human and God, and hence attack that weakness as a sign that it can dominate God's presence.

On the other hand, an exorcism is usually not just about purging the evil but also to instill absolute faith in our own religions. In my case, Christianity. Exorcism is like doing police work, it doesn't last over a scheduled 2 hours ritual and HOLA! Sometimes, it last over several days. I had a glimpse of the notes they made, yea I was surprised they actually take down notes throughout the rituals, and linked it all up like detective's work. Purpose is to spot the weakness in the evil being in possession of the victim's body.

You can almost say it's like fishing. One idiot waiting for another idiot, and see who succumbs to the pressure first.

I didn't know either, because in Singapore this is such a hush hush issue. Especially after the priests in Novena Church were charged over exorcism, hardly any priests wanna handle such cases - even if they are qualified.

I was lucky because I was studying in Bible College back then, and got to know some elders and mentors who do these.

get it dude! and tell me where u got it..i wanna get it too..Exorcist the first one was the best..the others just plain vomit...

and yes, every person in any religion can be possessed...its the soul of the person thats being devoured...nothing in relation to religion ;)

In the first place, Exorcisms are never things to 'show off', so to speak.

The only qualification one needs to 'handle' an exorcism is faith in God and knowledge of the Bible, which come hand in hand. Sounds easy huh, but a lot of people do not qualify already.

I'm a little surprised you attended Bible College, may I know which one?

In the first place, to openly talk about an issue is not show off. (If that's the case, 100% of the members here are "showing off" when they are sharing their knowledge with the rest.) It is hush hush here mainly because our law here does not recognize it, unlike in US where even FBI use psychic for their cases. (If you do watch TV). Rather, sometimes when a favour is done, you get bitten in return.

I can't agree with that. If I do, it means all the training and exposure as a mere assistant that the Exorcist has to undergo as an apparentice is unnecessary. It's far more complicated than that.

Why is it surprising? I was previously from London Bible College. But I drop out after 6 months, because I figure that I am not going to be a pastor or priest for that matter. :)

You're from the Bible College too?

well I've read and heard that during the making of this movie, the set was jinxed...

According to Rev. Father William O'Malley (who played Father Joseph Dyer in the film), the events depicted in the film are approximately 80% true. He claims the big discrepancies between the movie and reality were: it was a boy who was possessed, not a girl; the possession did not occur in Georgetown, but just outside DC in MD; and the color of the "pea-soup vomit" was not green. He claims that nearly everything else in the movie actually occurred.

:D

Exorcism of Emily Rose is my pick though... The Exorcist is not a single bit scary to me, it was more like a diary relevation.

But I have to admit Exorcism of Emily Rose was a little dramatised. Possessed person don't usually turn that violent. Unknown markings on bodies, I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet. Haha.
