Haiz.....choices choices choices.....AC4TV or Goose Amp.........alamak.........pondering pondering pondering.........hmmmmmmmm............damn!

AC4TV (Goose modded of course) at bedroom volumes to medium volumes and his own amp for loud gigs and recording! Best of both worlds :)

Sure James and Keith, you guys can drop by my place in the evenings to try the AC4.(after 7). One of the tubes has already been changed so i guess it has been unofficially goose modded.

aiya evenings ah! may not be able to:( i was thinking wed aft or thurs aft when i go to goose's place to collect my stuff..

the woes of having a day job....

anyways goose has a day job too...so you'd better check with him before dropping by in the afternoon.

Decided to try recording some demos over the weekend....

Seventheaven Low Gain Demo:

Seventheaven High Gain Demo:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=976612

And for the guys who wanted to check out the custom fuzz Goose made for me:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=976612

I used an MIJ DS-1 to push the front end on the high gain demo to give the 7th a bit more saturation for lead playing. i also used the Visual Sound V2 H2O for a slight echo effect on the low gain and fuzz clips and a DD7 as a looper for the fuzz clip.

what guitar and pickups bro?
the recordings are fantastic, what stuff did you use to record? mic-ed?
YOU'RE ONE AWESOME PLAYAA

the fuzz demo, is the backing out of sync with the fuzz or that its meant to be like that? Heh, sound kinda confusing like 2 sound going in different direction but happen to be at same place at the same time

Thanks bro, my demo-ing skillz suck but I'll keep working on it. Thanks for taking the time to listen :)

Oops forgot to mention- Guitar used was a Fender american standard modded to HSS config - Dimarzio VV solo neck, Area 67 middle and a Stan Heinsley Hellion in the bridge.

I recorded direct with this lined into a Zoom H2 recorder.

This is the signal chain as follows:

Guitar > pedalboard > BOSS TU88> Zoom H2 (lined in)

The Boss TU88 has a built-in preamp and cab sim which sounds fantastic - can be used as an headphone amp sim for late night practices or for going direct. You can hear the clean sound of the guitar at the start of both 7th heaven clips - thats the sound of the Boss TU88 direct. No post-eq or mixing added besides the raw file conversion to MP3 which results in the usual drop of quality.

That being said, I wanna try using the Zoom to record my AC4 :)

I guess I'm a confusing player :)

Thanks for listening to the clip - was just senseless wanking hehe

We call that TRANSCENDING bro....Google it ;)

Thanks Ized for appreciating my pedals :)

mmhmm i like the hairynessity of the stacked DS1 and seventheaven. never got that before!

I actually got that idea from Vai when i saw him step on his Keeley modded DS-1 when I saw the live at astoria DVD...

He used it as a booster, gain at zero and level at 11 o'clock....

It does add hair and thickens up the overall sound with more saturation when used as a booster. I especially like the way it inteprets my neck pickup dynamics as well, shredcow can attest to that :D

Overall, a rather different boosting experience compared to TS-style pedals :)

OOOOhhhhhh nooooooo not u too james.......ahhhhh noooo i must resist the dark side until the light of goose's custom amp arrives........

Goose, did Eugene Pau use a Citrus for his gig at Southbridge? Looked like it. No pictures from me but there was an orange pedal before his POG that looks suspiciously like the one I have sitting on my floor~

Mammoth player. Truly world class.
