indeed, that's how I prefer to listen to music too. but for M83, I think a lot of their tracks make for good 'singles'. I guess that's why a lot of their music ends up on mixtapes and such.

Hmm... dude, you might like to check with the peeps in our homegrown bands such as I Am David Sparkle, Lunarin, Electrico, etc. Quite a few of them are huge fans of the shoegazing movement even though they don't play that kinda style.

ahh, I just found their first album 'neverfigure', and have been listening to it. The production is pretty good, and though the vocals took some getting used to, I'm digging it. 'gloriousone' is really good. thanks for the recommendation!

I also found astreal's first album, but I didn't really like the vocals on that one, and it sounds dated.

anyway, anyone listens to A Place to Bury Strangers? I heard their new album a while ago, and it's really really good and accessible too.

i heard that randolf had a part in the production of the album.

ouijablush was recorded with the drum machine cos alwyn was in the army or something. shoegazing is dated man... but oh the nostalgia like 80's rock...

totally agree with the mbv statement. its the songs, production and layering especially for a genre like this.
