Hi guys, need help from those who have sand down your lacquer neck before. will the bare wood feels the same compare to those non-lacquer neck? if not, is there any thing that can be apply to give it the same kind of feel?

Thanks

Laquer is glossy thus giving that sticky feel.
Make it matt using 3m Scotch Brite.... especially the back of the neck

Just light rubbing off ya. :D

thanks gsonique. do i need to get some fine sandpaper to cleanse up the neck?

is there any method you go about to sand down the lacquer in order to even out everything, as the neck is curve which make it quite hard to sand donw?

aha ...avoid sand/grit paper....use the scotch brite (brown color).
We want to smoothen not much of removal of laquer as havin it bare wood will cause grim and stain residue and also moisture sipping in your neck wood !! The matt laquer will feel smooth and easy to clean !! :D
Get this....

haha thanks. will take a look at homefix =)

oh and 1 more thing, how do you sand down your neck?

do i sand it once and proceed downwards or after i have remove the lacquer for the top, then i move to the middle portion and the bottom?

chanmin advised me to do it once, move it down and keep repeating.

simulate your hand movement like you are playin to accomplish speedy "natural wear" i presume :D

so no fast back and forth just smooth long strokes ....

haha yeah daniel, that would be disatrous.

ok gsonique, will take note of that.

might need your help again sometime down the road =)

alternatively

you could leave the neck lacquer alone
and sand down your hand

Less demage to the guitar : )
should feel around the same playabilty wise
