ahahah sorry bro. my inbox had too many messages to trace back

hahah anyway i just got my rutt! cant wait to test it tonight!

Niteblade bro once u test it out pls post a review okie?? I guess everyone in this thread will really appreaciate it thanx and cheers!!!!

ok heres what i have to say from last night's shootout. it wasnt really extensive so my views might change again after playing/tweaking with it more

the rutt has a very unique sound. an intense distortion thats inbetween a rat and a muff.

the low gain settings arent really outstanding for me but when the gain goes above 12oclock. the drive starts to get pumped and sounds really good. it starts to muff up a little and lose clarity but i think thats what the rutt was built for right?

however it feels slightly bassy to me and i had to tweak around with my eq before i got a balanced tone (probably cos my rig is pretty treble inclined, been using a sahasrara stacked with a OCD as my main drive before that)

stacks really well with my OCD, esp when playing single notes on my neck pickup. that was really a joy. smooth sounding with singing sustain

didnt really go well with my sahasrara when stacked though. they didnt like each other i guess.

ps. all the testing was done through a double humbucker guitar

niteblade, try placing the rutt at lower gain, in front of ur fave OD(either Sahasrara or OCD), and stack the 2 pedals. Gives me a nice singing lead tone, typical of ODs with a fuzz quality.

I've also had to play ard with the tone knob to kill some of the mud, but I like the pedal cos I never intended to get transparent, clear tones out of it. Rat/Muff clone, u're right.

somehow it just doesnt like my sahasrara no matter how i set it.

hahaha! maybe i should try out a crunchbox. the fuzz needs some time for me to get used to. i prefer trebly!

I have a feeling that the rutt into a cbox will result in a tone that has too much gain saturation. If u're looking for a really compressed gain tone, then maybe yay, else nay! maybe the sahasrara was made to be anti-rutt! :p

ahaha i mean try out the crunchbox as my distortion instead.

not stack.

the rutt's tone is a little too bassy for me

-do note that im a very treble inclined person though (ask my bassist, kerplunk182 ahahaha)

hey kenneth! how do you usally set your gain?

i was tweaking around and found out that the sounds below 12oclock were more to my taste

yepperz, my distortion on the rutt is typically below 12 o'clock, ard 9-10 to be precise. Treble is tweaked to fit the rig (amp, OD pedal, guitar). On all my OD/Distortion pedals, I prefer to raise the volume knob and keep the gain knob as low as possible. Don't like overly compressed tones.

Let me also qualify that I only use the rutt for my home board. In church I use my Openhaus both for rhythm and lead(vol boosted), cos it has that sustaining quality that I get from the fuzz+OD combi.

KenC, still on the ole Openhaus? I still got mine here. Heh.

Anyway, I'm getting off the Rutt list lah. I can't believe I'm going after another op-amp dirt pedal. Heh.

Yes sir, still on the good ole Openhaus! Serial #6, so definitely ole. Haha. The new ones have the bass reduction, haven't tried those. Still the best I've stumbled upon, along with the Dyna Red. The Openhaus doesn't like my Hot Rod Deville tho, for some reason. High headroom (60W) but it just sounds too Fender-y for the chug to really come thru. It even sounds better on a Marshall AVT150 - valvestate.
