Rutt Rutt Rutt

Hot Rod Deville? Hmmm... email Toneczar abt it?

I'm still pretty awed by the way the thing feels and sounds... I've never had a drive pedal with so much gain on tap but yet - just captures the player's nuances. Brilliant. Now for the Dove - and I've heard good words about it from reputable people.

Interesting thing is that I actually like the Openhaus at low gain setting - probably because, like u mentioned, it has ALOT of gain on tap, and can get really saturated. I bought the rutt for the slightly muffy, sustain-y type of lead tone, but then I tried the Openhaus and I realised, dang this fella does both distortion and lead fabulously. Can't thank the3rdlogic more man.

Got the Rutt v1 from AvonRellets.. thanks bro!

I thought I'd post a review - I've only tried it once at home with a 1/2 watt amp, and 5 minutes in a jam studio. (Longer times required in studio...)

As expected on the 1/2 watt amp, the distortion farts out - but it's easy to hear the signature of the Rat sound - thick, and does not have that same clipping sound as normal distortions would have.

In the studio, I plugged into a Line 6 spider stack on clean, boosted mids and cuts on bass and treble. I'm using a maple neck fender strat that's heavily shielded (cuts a bit of treble), so YMMV... turned on, tweaked a bit for 3 sounds - overdrive at guitar volume 3-4, distortion at 5-7, solo at 7-9. Played Muse - walla, just the kind of pedal I want, something that can do all 3 decently.

I'm thinking the Rutt sounds a little straightforward and could pack a little more timbre, but I'm nitpicking. Am rather glad I got this instead of Rutt V2, given the replies from forummers here. Might drop a mail to see how Kimjawbettas can advise on tweaking it.
