Just a personal opinion, how you feel, mr heartrock?!

Managing a range of vastly different genre can be absolutely daunting. We had the benefit of failures at the last one to put things better this time. I have left my confidence in the committee that they will deliver. I read the commentary by Jeremy Lua of audioreload only yesterday, and agreed with him totally on the set back of sound quality, that's why we will be doubling the sound, light and instruments.

Incidentally someone asked why am I announcing ROS more than 8 months ahead when others don't do that. One of the unfortunate thing is we are part of a massive festival that requires extensive preparations. This time, having tasted the agony, we will ready our contents for worldwide publicty, systemized the management & marketing efforts, and make sure audience get value for their time spent at the show.

Hey! Antony! Tap Some Bong...

Err. Sorry i havent been contacting you, rather busy with things. With regards to ROS:

I agree it's the best thing to keep genres open as you mentioned. Singapore's 'culture' right now is pretty much diverse, some say undecided lol. There are many out there who appreciate more than one form of music, and can certainly live with variety. I personally started of playing metal, then rock, then pop, then dabbled in latin, some jazz, funk. fusion, prog rock etc etc. I'd stay for the entire gig to open my eyes, and save myself the travelling to various locations to catch different bands. The whole idea of it being a festival of music is appealing, and saying 'Rock On Singapore' certainly does not denote a celebration of Singaporea-bred rock bands, its really about all sorts of bands 'rocking' out in Singapore!

No issue 3-Notes...happy you still remember. Trade show still working but date change due to fresh foreign interest, but no change to concert.

Thanks for the comments on ROS.

Thank you for so many emails that came to me showing interest to perform in ROS-2. Apart from the list of bands the committee already has, forum members of soft have also nominated their favourite bands. I think these are two very important criteria that the committee look at and they are the recommendation of soft forum members, whose judgement generally is acceptable and their support and particpation in HeartRock programmes in the last two years. during their prticipation at HeartRock events, we also get to know the bands musically and personally, and that form a strong basis.

However, if anyone is keen to participate in other HeartRock events other than ROS, please email me directly. For line-up in ROS, you need to be nominated by soft forum members. Even so, the final line-up lies in the committee's decision.

Thank you very much for your support of ROS & HeartRock.
