Hi i was just tracking back and looking at the nominations for the bands. I wonder if you guys could ask the band "Ugly in the Morning" to play?

I like their music - it rawks! Anyone second that? :D

I'll spank Noel in a second...

Hey Anthony, I need to find out about your dates of you AIF and ROS06. Dun wanna clash with your events. Thanks! Let me know.

Aging Youth, y dont you go ahead n set your dates. ROS will be within the Singapore Arts Fest period, we need to make internal adjustments.

Edit edit...

actually we can have out gigs within the same period...I think that will be graet for all the audience.

think NAC's publicity engine may be limited i.e. they will put up on Arts Fest website, Arts Fest brochure and may be able to influence some press coverage (maybe!) and basically may not allocate much more budget. Maybe flyers can be put at the different Arts Fest channels/...

nothing above the line ...

I don't know what your arrangements are with them. Is that about right in terms of what you are expecting from NAC, or is there more?

I suppose forums will do their bit.

I don't know what kind of outreach you are targetting. Do you expect ROS06 to be a gated event?

Aey Gargle, you are spot on on Arts Fest publicity. Well just to add a little, last year we arranged to have B-quartet appear on channel news asia as well as an cna interview with the festival outreach director specifially mentioning NAC's partnership with HeartRock. That was superb that some softies even saw that in Indonesia.

But you are right that we had very limited budget, and indeed NAC's publicity supplemented well for that. We put out flyers as well in June and we are going to do that again and without saying, in the forum as well.

What else do you think I can do to create a wider awareness for the event?

depending on yr target audience (pls don't say EVERYONE is the target), it would be easier to approach the magazines with an angle. since you are providing content, it may be possible to speak with magazines. each would need its own hook, tho. maybe IS and such would cover, but they need ample notice. And the PRESS can be your friend - haha!

NAC does its own Arts Fest marketing. However, you may also want to ride on STB's marketing. Are there any overseas acts performing at ROS06 or is there a tourist angle? also distribution in the visitor centres and hotels etc...

is there a ROS06 website? you may also be able to exchange banner traffic with sites if u have one.

last of all - publicity at other gigs thru SOFT/AGING YOUTH...and the other sites like MRMISSE/LUTHER/G77 etc

Well aging youth is already writing. What we are looking at really is megazines that reaches beyond the musicians community.

Am I now talking with a friend from the press? It does shows you know the media game. I would be silly if I don't engage your help..ha ha

willie is that you??!!!! sensual new age man? you publish is it? hahaha!

rockon - not from the press - just have a love/hate relationship with them. easy to come up with ideas, hard to execute - press has a mind of its own.

right now its all ideas only - i'd be happy to share. lets arrange a meet-up at an appropriate time with bigtokes, aging youth etc when you think it is time.

anyway when are the auditions???

Yessshhh, it's me but it's spelled the same as the fooken whale.

I've seen the poster for this new men's magazine, SNAG. I think it's Sensual New Age Guy. No shitting you here.

Heartrock:
Maybe you can try LIME mag too. A teens mag and they've featured articles on gig events like Street Festival etc.

I think the committee will begin to shortlist the bands sometime next week and some bands will be called for audition because the members had no previous opportunity to listen to them.
