When you copyright something and someone else uses it, you can spend a few thousand dollars sueing the "bigwig" and get millions in return.
Why make someone else famous with your song when your song has the potential to make someone else famous?
Well thats my concept in business, if everyone can duplicate your business concept dont jump into the bandwagon!
But if you dont mind seeing another person getting famous with your song, well its perfectly fine.

oh dear.... few thousand dollars?.... only a few thousand dollars?....
the world is round and its a perfect sphere. so perfect.
Go for it AveRal. At least you have a business plan or a concept but be ready to crash your head against the wall when you have
1) A band first and foremost or if you're going solo
2) Band members with different ideas on how to market the music
3) Getting the band heard and known
4) Getting gigs
5) Getting funds for recording, printing of CDs etc
6) Getting involve with Compass
7) and many many more.
All I'm trying to say is there's much more to it than just thinking about protecting the music. :wink:

Hey edder, thanks for the tips!
I organised a party for firebrands last year at DXO (i booked the club with a personal loan from my dad), it was an eye opener because at the age of 18 with the help of my friends, i managed to make it a success! There was a crowd of 600 people exceeding the original estimated capacity of 500 after much advertising and hardwork.
There will be something happening at the end of the year or next year so do keep a look out if you are interested in my future endeavours

A simple person would want to work in the lower levels
A hardworking person would not mind being in the middle
An achiever would want to climb the coperate ladder
A specialiser would want to sit in the upper levels
A person with ambition would aspire to be the CEO

I feel when organising gigs, it is important to remember to reward the crew if there are profits, and acknowledge and credit the crew with respect always. Theres a limit to where people work for free and in the background.
Sometimes its human to forget these basic form of courtesy. A word of thanks may work for that moment but not forever.

Well, the reality is most of our beliefs and how we percieve things are shaped by our environment, culture and how we are brought up. Next time you see something "beautiful"...stop and think about why you think its beautiful....who gave you the perception that having those attributes makes this thing/person beautiful. If you understand what i am saying...you should realise that most of us are just followers. Shaped by our surroundings to think the way we are today. Even as i am typing this....i maybe subconsciously thinking this way because i am follower of another system.
Therefore....making it big can have millions of definitions. But dont ever strive to achieve the image of making it big because other people "thought so". If you are happy in doing it, then i think you are already making it big.
