cant decide on rio grande BBQ bucker or bare knuckle VH II

it'll be install on my epip elite SG's bridge. kinda unhappy with the stock pup though i like the thick tone but it lack of sustain.

lookin for new pup dat's got lotsa bass & mids, juz enuff treble retain clarity. high o/p but not distorting. prefer alnico den harsh ceramic (sorry to ceramic fans)

cant find any dimarzio or seymour duncan pup with nickel cover (cos the stock pup has cover & i like it dis way). only dose PAF type but relatively low o/p.

any advice. thanx in advance :D

Bare Knuckles are overpriced mojo 8O .. to my ears !!
 
ditto with BLs but I've given up on getting anything from them already.

May wanna try the Duncans strat set. Lil59 on neck, Duckbucker on middle and JB Jr on bridge.

Affordable package too at $250, Davis.

supposedly bareknuckle-esque clones. to me that is, la.
 
i is suspecting the pickups will cost abt half or more than what the guitar is worth.

and no conclusion will be reached
 
you will always go wrong if you "think" you "know" and "perceive" what you want.

but i'm sure HAS sound makes good pickups.

Customised does not always equals good.

dude, don't go defensive on me, I just took it off from where you mentioned "personalised products".

I'm just reiterating a point where too much options and the user "thinking" he "knows" what he wants will lead to many wasted experiments. Been there done there got a bunch of BBQ grade firewood at home.
 
Ah. I guess I misintepreted you. Sorry about that. You got a point there. Stan has some pickups to start of from, which you can send it back to him to modify if you wish you.
 
yeah, for HAS, its the DC listed there.

You should email Stan, tell him what you want, and he'll give you some help.
 
planning to get a has sound pickup myself...looking at either the Viper or the Scorpion....for the bridge

so opinions?
